It was just a rough guess of a balanced trade.

Howard's honest value would be around the 18 mark. I don't want us to trade him, but that's realism. If we want to get the 12 pick, we'd have to give up something, so 29 is 600ish points. And the gap of 12 to 18 is about 300ish. So really at best maybe we could get a future 3rd as well, or add in a future 4th.

I just don't see why we should add anything. They're the ones who back-doored us with a $3 milion / 5 year offer to a contracted player.

To paraphrase Dodoro, we're not going to replace an athletic tall like Howard with pick 12 in this draft.

As much as this draft is very much about those top 13 picks and everything in the teens is closer to second round imo I still would be keen to get more than one asset back in a Dougal trade so our eggs aren’t in one basket.

We are upgrading it to 12, meaning those damn 4ths are used on Mead, which always was the ideal scenario.

Its the most midrange second round pick, eminently tradeable into next year for an equivalent, or into combination with other picks. Split it into a third this year and next year. Get involved in other trades that dont cost us a player. So many options.
