Are you the new Ted Hopkins? :)

Over on the Brisbane Board there are some good value posts in the NM & Brisbane game review thread

As this thread dies off I’m happy we are all in agreeance that not only is Syria ten times the place Queensland is, I’d take the whole of the Middle East and Eastern Europe too.

At least we’ve found a replacement flog in Zorko since the retirement of Goddard. Piece of shit

FYI In the below article the AFL acknowledges browns free/goal was wrong doesn't appear to have made it to your board yet. Afl has now said that you were gifted a goal, just like we were gifted a goal.

So corrected score is Lions 81 def Roos 79.

In fairness, that smacks as a classic example of “evening up” on behalf of the AFL. If it hadn’t existed, they would have looked for something in the 1st quarter, if they had to. It is, also, ironic because the BBB decision, initially, was evening up the missed foul on BBB just before. Regardless, for us, it’s all a case of pushing s**t uphill. We copped seriously bad luck on the weekend on the adjudication front, when we could least afford it. We’ll get over it - eventually...

So can we assume that most of the frees given were incorrect?

Kindly go back through the game and tell me how many goals were as a direct or indirect result of free kicks.

Or just jog on, your choice.

Your maths appear as pathetic as your logic....

In the North Melbourne rooms, or the umpire's rooms?
Mate, I was as frustrated as anyone with the umpiring, but you can't tell me the scoreless 3rd quarter (and the week before as well) was entirely due to that.

Still waiting for this call to be explained.

Hello I've also seen this but am still unable to find the actual statement from the AFL on this matter?

It reads to me like a bunch of journos echo chambering each other. Not disputing the ruck free, Goldy gets them against him often enough that I hate the blocking rule but yeah, lots of talk without official statements like they did with Thompson's free.

That was a disaster, you can see all the North players move ahead of the ball (towards North's goals) based on the umpire signalling a block. That left them all hopelessly out of position when the Brisbane player was handed the ball.

It's a basic rule of umpiring that when you stuff up - e.g paying the mark but signalling a free kick the other way (I'm being generous to the ump here) - you halt the game and give the players time to set up fairly. So that's a double stuff up.

Of course he should have paid the block though.

How about all the BS frees you received in the 3rd quarter?

Umpire made a mistake and realised it was an absolute flop so reversed it, a mistake but better than sticking with the original decision.

Yeah nevermind the fact that our players ran the other way and you had free players everywhere forward of the ball.

Much better than the original decision apparently.
