Can I just say thank-you for this thread. So much negativity after yesterday's win. Wife and Child gone for Lunch up in York so had the house to myself for most of the day. Gives me the peace and quiet I need to feel good about yesterday.

Last year, 2008, 2006, 2005.Its awesome that we are still a slight chance at making finals... When was the last time we were a realistic chance of making finals after 15 rounds?

Jack definitely does match everything you just said, more visibly than Newman even.In my opinion a leader who is someone who set the tone for what he expects from the rest of the group, has an intimate knowledge of what each players strengths and weaknesses are, and is able to aid that player to reach to full potential. Is also there to guide and instruct those around him and make sure everyone keeps there heads up when things are down, whilst delivering a bit of tough love when required. This needs to be someone everyone respects and admires so his words don't fall on deaf ears.
obviously cotch and newy fit this description very well
Tho, in short, i dont think jack and jacko do, thats all

i think they respect his sheer talent, skill and experience, whether they respect the way he carries himself and acts like a clown (mainly referring to around the club), im not so sure??Jack definitely does match everything you just said, more visibly than Newman even.
It's purely observation and opinion on our own counts so I couldn't tell you, I just disagree with you that's all.i think they respect his sheer talent, skill and experience, whether they respect the way he carries himself and acts like a clown (mainly referring to around the club), im not so sure??
Jack looked good yesterday, minus the kicking for goal.
i thought this too.I dont want to pay out on JR all to much, his work rate is top notch, but that attempted banana from the boundary looked like it was an "ahhhh **** it" attempt that had zero thought put into it...it was as if he made his mind up about the banana a stride before he kicked it...that has to stop JR, each scoring shot has to be clinical and robotic..stop piss farting around..the snap for goal was nearly smothered too...i mean WTF??
jack played well yesterday and obviously let himself down with his kicking. the only criticism i had was as things didnt go his way more and more he tended to whinge to the umps to much, its not a good look.it annoys me that jack get branded for body language yet all fwds do it yet cop no criticisms. ffs lloyod got it wrong when he said jack was complaining about the free when he was asking for the MARK! i think he has been good in this area of late but when your branded like this it doesnt matter, just like rances disposal. i also hated the fact that that all reports referred to frawley beat jack but if it wasnt for is bad kicking he would have been smashed. i cant remember when jack had 6 or 7 clunks v frawley so on that basis he won the duel.

Richo was similar... emotional, heart on sleeve kinda guys, I suppose. I certainly find it frustrating at times, and don't think it's a good look on the field. Would love him to channel the emotions into positive aggression... for example, I really like the way Hurley goes about things. Can't recall him playing for soft free's or dropping his head and sulking about a missed free. Would love a player like him at CHF.The only criticism i had was as things didnt go his way more and more he tended to whinge to the umps to much, its not a good look.
me thinks the comp has wised up to how we move the ball on the spread and make sure they keep us out of the corridor and force us wide at every opportunity
exactly, the johno brown type. richo was similar, which was why he wasn't in the leadership group. Back then we had far more options as leaders thoRicho was similar... emotional, heart on sleeve kinda guys, I suppose. we were definitely very wide on saturday, would have like to have seen more balls centered rather than having 40m boundry line bannana shotsat the end of the day tigerheads, me thinks the comp has wised up to how we move the ball on the spread and make sure they keep us out of the corridor and force us wide at every opportunity, creating shots from flanks and pockets and if its centered they are there in numbers, forcing a contest that if it goes our way, more often than not, ends up in a rushed snap..
On a side note, is it just me, or has Melbourne just about taken over the prestigious mantle that we have had in the trophy cabinet, as the the team that has ****** up worse with their top draft picks. I mean, they lost Scully and watching on Saturday, Watts is a hack of mega proportions..and I mean mega dud.
I wonder if whoever was responsible for the pick, is still employed, i mean Jack Watts 1, NicNat 2? LMAO.
Definitely sounds like usIt's not just you mate, you're dead right. And the thing that shits me, to now compensate for the shitness of their recent drafting, they're trying to poach everyone elses good players. First Clark, now Boak & Cloke - any time someone decent is available, they're throwing cash at them. They can't draft and develop their own, so why not poach everyone elses?
Johno Brown... good example. An aggressive, workhorse CHF who does't crack the sh*ts when things start going against him... just keeps working his butt off.exactly, the johno brown type. richo was similar, which was why he wasn't in the leadership group.
