AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Talk is he’s ready to go but maybe not as high a ceiling as some others. Time will tellWelcome Sid.
They've said ready to go on the broadcast....
Crows fan makes it even better
Cmon STODid we fly Laird over to explain team expectations to him?
Wait till he is able to get a preseason or 2 under his belt and be injury free..we might have an absolute star in the makingHe's the one I wanted. Speed, line breaker, evasive, runs both ways and kicks goals, averaging 1 goal a game at SANFL this year.
Future superstar
Its one of those nights - we are all in a congratulatory moodI'm not sure if it's been mentioned...
But who ever did the banner for this thread... seriously well done! Just awesome!
That is an exceptionally poor trade for North. Give up their 2025 1st round pick, to get pick 27 this year and Richmond's 2nd rounder next year.
That could easily be a top 3 pick next year!
Death Taxes and Laird putting in the pre season of his life to get that starting mid roleLaird will put in a D-Mac/Murphy level preseason.
E.L.I.T.E.
PBs in everything. Greatest preseason in the history of sport.
Hopefully we can win Finals too....I know we should not get too far ahead of ourselves, but locally speaking we have had Ports number for a couple of years now apart from when they ko'd Rankine and pinched the last one. Since then, we have added Cumming to half back, Peatling and Draper as midfielders and ANB across half forward. Port have lost Houston and apart from getting Lukosius, the brought in some also rans and whoever they get in the draft.
We are looking stronger, not sure they are going forward
Because Freo wanted Joe Berry as well and were also offering West Coast picks and WC were probably too afraid that Freo were bluffing to get AllenSo Port traded up one spot to get Joe Berry.
I've never understood pick trades that move you up a single spot. Surely if the club you're trading with wants the player you're going to pick, then they won't do the trade. And if they agree to the trade, they weren't going to take them anyway, right?
West Coast just picked the best local lad with their pick, they were never going after the player Port wanted. Why give up pick 45 for nothing?
Whats even more confusing is they drafted a small forward after giving 25 year old Richards 4 years based on 9 games. I would've thought a key forward to replace Dixon/Esava/Marshall might've been a priority. I'm sure Berry is their next instalment of the 'missing piece. So Port traded up one spot to get Joe Berry.

That "targeting Round 1" talk would have gone down like a lead balloon internally.Needs a body of work before he pushes out Laird or Crouch.
Give him back to Sturt where he belongsAnd they upgraded McEntee.
It's very unusual for us to have a top end pick and there be multiple pure midfielders available that are all rated closely.Feels like I'm living in a dream with us picking a top end midfielder
