I posted this on the draft thread but deserves a spot here

"I'm eyeing Round 1, that's the goal"

I'm excited about what these 2 could become. If all goes well and they can avoid injury, Fog and Thilthorpe could be the best tall forward 1/2 in the competition. Despite a disappointing year for the club these two took their game to another level. Both look like becoming genuine A-graders. I would give Fog the vice captaincy.

There are very very few teams that have the cattle to match up on both of them, when they're on: they're both capable of getting up and around the ground and being damaging, as well as hurting teams close to goal.

If you can break even in the midfield and allow opportunities, them with guys like Rankine / Rachelle around their feet is a pathway to victory, and we've got a long time left of both (bar injuries, touch wood).

Laird will put in a D-Mac/Murphy level preseason.

E.L.I.T.E.

PBs in everything. Greatest preseason in the history of sport.
The Possibles won't know what hit them in the match sim.

I know we should not get too far ahead of ourselves, but locally speaking we have had Ports number for a couple of years now apart from when they ko'd Rankine and pinched the last one. Since then, we have added Cumming to half back, Peatling and Draper as midfielders and ANB across half forward. Port have lost Houston and apart from getting Lukosius, the brought in some also rans and whoever they get in the draft.

We are looking stronger, not sure they are going forward
I reckon we win 7 or 8 of the next 10 showdowns (bookmarked)

They are going. The Crows are coming!

He's definitely shown an ability to kick a clutch goal, I'll pay that. But he's a fairly vanilla player. Not overly quick, not overly big, doesn't rack up big numbers, isn't particularly eye-catching. He just seems like a good player to me. You need those on your list, but if we're bringing in the likes of Draper, he is the sort of player that is likely to drop out.

He's shown the scope that he will in his stint. 17 disposals as a 2nd year player on a wing is nothing to scoff at, especially when paired with 0.4 goals/0.7 goal assists (The GA was rated elite for midfielders, and there aren't a lot of wings above 1 GGA).

He's a bit of a quiet achiever, but Dowling should probably be our number 1 wing coming into next year to see if 17 disposals can be pushed to 19-20 and what that it does to the offensive numbers.

And the what if that will haunt us forever re Walsh

Well the what if in regards to not getting done for draft tampering to keep Tippett.

So Port traded up one spot to get Joe Berry.

I've never understood pick trades that move you up a single spot. Surely if the club you're trading with wants the player you're going to pick, then they won't do the trade. And if they agree to the trade, they weren't going to take them anyway, right?

West Coast just picked the best local lad with their pick, they were never going after the player Port wanted. Why give up pick 45 for nothing?

Absolutely stoked with this pick.

Been wanting this kid since his U16 year, then his U17 year was as phenomenal as you can get for a bottom-ager in SA. Yes he's had some injury setbacks this year but what he did for the South Adelaide SANFL side when he came in mid-season was seriously impressive.

His pace, agility, endurance, and workrate are all seriously impressive on field.
But then you've got his character, professionalism, leadership and likeability which are all top drawer off-field as well.

We've got an elite one here.

I guess he was known as an accumulator as a junior. I'm certainly happy for him to establish a spot in the side! I'm just thinking that given the top-class midfield names we now have on the list, he is in danger of being squeezed out.

There is more cheer in a morgue than on their board tonight - most are devastated they took him and not a key forward or a midfielder...lol

Maybe WCE told Port that they had another buyer on the line

Thankfully we didn't have Godden presenting the guernsey. He'd have been straight into his ear about all the weaknesses we've identified that he needs to focus upon.
Godden wouldve said

‘Dont worry son.. you’ll be a great tagger.. I’ll make it happen”
