MY COMMENTS:
That time of the year again and it seems to have came around quickly. From memory R2 of the AFL season is a bit earlier start to the VFL campaign. Box Hill is always a tough opponent given the quality/experience of their VFL squad and they will be a good test for our young VFL group.

Good question. If these rules still stand, then you'd think so given his "senior 2 game ban" ends on Saturday afternoon.

We got one more in about a month later vs Box Hill at the end of July. Match was played at Olympic Park, so I took advantage of eased restrictions and visited a park (attending footy wasn’t permitted).

Reading over the match thread 2022 VFL pie Dowling debuted for us in a one off match to test the waters.

I'd be very surprised if he was allowed to play a VFL game this week! Surely a 2 game AFL ban means he can't play any official games for the next 2 weeks, and we were just lucky he was able to play last week's Reserves practice game and keep his eye in?!

I agree, but the AFL ruled that Stepho was allowed to play in the same circumstances in 2019 - his 10 match suspension was deemed finished when he'd missed his 10th AFL game and he suited up the next day in the VFL to get a practice match in before the finals.

They haven’t, but Sr is right technically he’s served his two match ban as of about 5pm Saturday. I doubt he plays though based on McRae’s comments the other week about him playing the one VFL match.
