We did well to come back, thought we were gonna lose by 10 goals at one stage . Just a pity we let them back in , we’ve been like that all year
cant beat the umps

Hes had 2 good games in a row, thats it. Before that he did * all V Willie and had no impact V Swans before he was rested.

He'll get his chance if he keeps it up.
George has had one.
Aarts the same.

Cumberlands stats:

I’d say these are the stats of a small/mid size forward that can hit the scoreboard regularly and often with limited opportunities.
3 goals or more in 5 of his last 7 games.

He is ok defensively without it being his main weapon like George but his ability to be damaging with the ball in hand is much stronger than those two or pretty much anyone else in the ressies. Sometimes this type can take another step up when put in a better side.

I’d love to see him get a crack.

Yeah I'd like to see him too but I dont think it will be when soldo, dusty, Jack and lynch are all in the side in the same way caddy lost his spot in the forward line when Jack dusty and lynch where there. Stack is much better at ground level and castagna brings much better pressure so I can see why they're in the squad. Not Aarts though.

I get your point re team balance. I’m in the camp that thinks Soldo shouldn’t be in the side if Balta is fit. That opens a spot for another small on the bench. On form I’d give him a crack ahead of Edwards as well but I understand why that might not be an option with 300 games on the horizon

Yeah im with ya

I see Cumberland more as a medium, forward than small. He goes for marks and can take them.

We are short of aerial firepower up forward. Look at Brisbane last night, Daniher, Hipwood, Berry and McStay all up front at times. We play one genuine tall forward in Lynch, Jack is not that sort of player any more. The last few weeks he has more roving or tackling goals than goals from marks or on the lead. He is more your third tall these days. This is where Cumberland might come in handy.

I hope they play Gibcus there on Sunday. He should have been given the job to run with Stewart last week as he was pretty bad down back. Stop Stewart we win.

Out : Clarke , Prestia , Gibcus , Edwards
In : Stack , Miller , Sonsie , Cumberland

Sub : Soldo
You can’t have soldo as the sub he is either in or out , Prestia went down and replaced by soldo , bad bad bad, you need a versatile player as the sub, stack , Cumberland etc etc

Disagree. Prestia went down so we switched to the usual 2 ruck system, saved Nanks legs to play a blinder Q4.

Little man sub with Soldo out...and Nank gets injured we are cooked. I just don't think it was that big an issue. With Balta out we had to have a Nank emergency strategy.

I think it will be most likely just 2 changes.

Prestia and Clarke out and Soldo and either Stack or Mansell in.

I reckon they may hold Lambert back for next week's game.

Agree and disagree

Having a ruck as a sub is nuts - sub needs to be a versatile type with pace - is useful late in games if needed

Without Balta as a 2nd ruck option we really need to play both Nank and Soldo - especially with a depleted midfield at the moment.
Can't afford someone like NicNat jumping all over a tired Nank or and undersized Riewoldt for God's sakes - Jack aint no Shaun Grigg.
