McAsey is interesting, was a high pick and an AA defender at junior level in his draft year, but we need a KPF at the other end, not so much desperate for tall defenders. Balta, Gibcus and Miller ontop of the existing Grimes, Tarrant and Broad is a very good hand of KPFs now and in the future.

It's a lot rarer for KPDs to suddenly become good KPFs than it is the other way which is relatively common.

Brenton Mann (Talking Tigers podcast and VFL correspondent) liked a tweet that had a video of McAsey being interviewed about flying to Melbourne to meet with clubs.
My theory is why would he like this specific tweet.
We also had a rumour on the BigFooty Tigercast that we were into a KPF from a bottom eight club. McAsey isn't really a KPF but more a KPP that has the ability of being a swing man, apparently.

GWS has an interest in getting Taranto Hopper deal done early. It solves their cap problem and they lose nothing in the midfield with green, kelly locked in - coniglio, callaghan etc gives them a nice clewr cut midfield. They also dont need 4 picks from us. They do want to get it done early, along with Bobby hill and bruhn. One pick for each of them first or second round plus their first and second round gives them 6 picks in the top 25. They can then target any role players they want with their later picks. I reckon we get the deal done day 2.

The only reason we’d be looking at a player like Mcasey is if the club was concerned Noah Balta will look elsewhere at the end of next year.
