My biggest concern from Koch's interview today was the lack of acknowledgment that the Club needs to improve its on-field performance. They seem to be content with a 1-2 record at this point.

Koch can spout that the players didn't give up on Ken at 0-5 last year. But the reality of the matter was at 0-5 the season was over regardless of how else you want to try to spin it. Whilst 1-2 is certainly not season over by any means on paper, it shows a significantly reduced margin for error over the coming weeks. A bad loss to Sydney on Saturday puts them at 1-3 with a must-win game against the Dogs in Gather Round. Two more losses in the next 10 days to put the Club at 1-4 effectively will be too big a hole for the team to climb out of.

You would think given the schedule that the Club would be pushing a bit more urgency because this has every potential to get away from them in as little as 10 days time.

Well they did give up on him as soon as they got back to being in contention. got to a game outside the 8 and promptly lost 4 in a row. then of course smashed 14th and 15th once the expectation was gone again.

Even if you want to include prelims as a 'success measure', noting Premierships take precedent, we are still glaringly fcuking mediocre for Twinkle Fingers reign:

So if we use making Grand Finals as an indicator of success rather than a Prelim which would be reasonable given it is more of an achievement, Freo and Adelaide both jump ahead of Port...

and i mean... its not like we had some amazing performance after that. after ken hinkley came in and took over at 0-5, we went 10-7 the rest of the year. hardly inspiring stuff.

10-7 is still a pathetic fall for a team that finished in the top 2 on the ladder two years running.

This morning Koch on FiveAA
“Ken is the coach of the football club for this year and it’s round 3 for goodness sake,” Koch told FIVEaa.

“We always respect the views of our past legends.

“Tredders has a view, (Power premiership teammate) Kane Cornes has exactly the opposite view and … has come out quite critically against Tredders, (commentator) Gerard Whateley, even (former Crows captain) Mark Bickley has said they were just stupid comments.

“I think the massive opinion of everybody to the comments of Warren are that you are crazy to make any judgments after three rounds.

“Warren is a highly respected legend of the club but there’s lots of other highly respected legends of the club that support what the club is doing and totally disagree with Warren.”

Koch said losing a Showdown, particularly in its traditional prison-bar guernsey, was disappointing but it was early in a very long campaign.

Ken and the team need to get on with the job and need time to breathe, and get into the season,” he said.

“We all knew we had one of the toughest opening five, six rounds.

“I expect the team to respond accordingly on Saturday night against the Swans at the SCG.”

Its clear as day Koch needs to be removed as well from the top post!
We just need to play weak opposition because we’re expected to lose against anyone decent?

1 - what a loser mentality

2 - who are the weak opposition? Because we are playing like a bottom 4 team and there are no easy wins anymore

3 - claims that overwhelmingly the comments to tredreas view were that his view was stupid. Go on social media that is clearly a lie. Tell us more about no supporter disconnect

i don't think you want that; as the implication is that Donuts stays despite the anger of everyone else

that's what's been happening for years, the board doesn't care how angry anyone is, we keep paying them

The lack of intensity the players have shown so far (including pre season) suggests the wins will be few and far between. The players keep saying they are behind the coach and vice versa but as Timmy G mentioned sub consciously they are not. They need a new voice and obviously some need to be moved on because their best is well behind them. Won’t change until someone makes some hard decisions.

Such as who? Surely he's not referring to Kane Cornes, who wouldn't owe Ken Hinkley the back third of his career and have any sense of debt and be biased in any way right? I respect Kane's opinion on a lot of topics, not all. I do think his opinion is clearly compromised when it comes to Ken Hinkley.
Lol. So.listening to SEN, the other ex port player is Dwayne Russell... which is laughable. Counting Dwayne Russell as though he somehow has the best interests of Port Adelaide at heart is insane. The guy basically roots for us to loose, but we're supposed to put any stock in him saying we should keep Ken around?! Lol.

Last year we did have a lot of injuries to key players at the start of the year HOWEVER this year there is no excuses there is next to no injuries and a couple of very handy recruits. The lack of intensity has been horrendous and the SANFL squad well there is literally next to nothing there. It is going to be a very long year.

and in reality we only went 10-7 cause we had a soft draw and each 8 point game or important game we lost.

as soon as finals were in reach the team bottled it

Exactly. Contract starts 01 November. Looking forward to JUNE 1.
May 1 - and can't you just hear the fawning, obsequious and vomit-inducing Chairman Koch talk about this:
'brilliant and unselfish servant of the club whom we surely would have reappointed had he expressed a desire to continue'.

if warren has any friends left from his playing days they need to come out back him and call for K&K to be thrown off the wharf into the harbour.
They don't even need to like Warren.

They just need to hate what our club has become. There must be loads of them.
