Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Keys you may like to sticky this post & move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread if you have one.

Way less echo chambery for the most part.
That's because so many of them are seriously unhinged.
It’s almost as if some of you think if you repeat it enough times it’ll be true.
I have postulated that in a typical year pick 1 would cost picks 4 + 7-8, and this isn't an ordinary year.
I've also suggested that if offered pick 4, F1st and Cam Mackenzie that would be a trade I would consider.
Picks 2+3 is well overs but I think the general consensus here is that we keep Harley Reid.

The trade previously offered by North was not on the level and hopefully we don't find out what might be on the level for our list management to consider a trade.
I won't repeat my impressions of the North posters over on their board. They can post whatever inane idea they like over there as is their prerogative. Feel free to interact with them as you please, but don't bring their nonsense back here.

You get unhinged people on any board. Go look at the Purples after the North game - that was the best fun I ever had on BigFooty.

I spent one afternoon interacting with the North board and with the exception of one simpleton found them a largely open minded-ish bunch. My experience may not be yours so fair bump play on.

You also are able to grasp 2 and 3 is overs therefore you’re not my target audience at the rant post.

I also agree that their offer was absolutely derisory and nothing more then an in joke troll between Pie Man and Rawlings

How do you know a Godfather offer is not coming? I suspect ROB has been in dialogue and it is "let's see what you can actually offer after this trade period finishes". He has been pretty clear - show me the picks and I will tell you if I have any interest.

For people not used to the home auction process, the build up and the expectation gets greater the closer you get to the auction day and the hammer going down. You invariably get the best bid on the day and a buyer needs to make an offer well above market for the home to be taken off the market early.

Relax. ROB is doing fine. We should probably not expect any real action until 20th of November hence I am now worried for your physical and mental health. Just chill.

North aren’t offering 2 and 3, they never were. So what godfather offer is coming?

Norf supporter were quoting his posts and calling him a 'psycho' for about 4 pages after he posted about that time he met Reid a few weeks ago.

Their posting about that was indeed unhinged.

Talking points from Trade Radios chat with Rohan O'Brien

+ Happy to get Brockman in and leave the PSD spot open

+ O'Brien is expecting offers to come in after the trade period is over, happy to listen to offers.

+ Says we haven't decided who we would take with Pick 1 (Why the * would you say that you muppet??!!)

+ Pick 1 doesn't come along very often but we are looking to bring in some top end talent and we are waiting to see what is offered.

+ Doesn't see the draft as shallow, more even. Sees a whole group of players bulked together.

+ Open to trading Pick 1 all the way up to draft night. Wont put a timeline on it, can go down to the last hour

+ Was asked about Curtin. "Daniel has had a great year, after a injury plagued year last year, played well this year all over the ground, did a job on Walter" ..... creamed himself over Curtin

+ Didn't say and wasn't asked a thing about Reid or any other draftee..... O'Brien didn't even mention his name.

+ West Coast are looking to rebuild from year to year, not looking at a speed/timeline to it but last two years have been tough. Wants to rejuvenate through the draft.

+ Says its a rarity to have pick 1 and they are looking at it like they did last year and will just have to see what comes of it.

That was almost a complete waste of time.
Hmmm, that makes for scary reading. Sounds like he wants to trade it.

Pretty much in line with my thinking.

I also believe a KPF has to be high on your list needs this year or next year.

Take Reid.

Target a KPD in the top 10.

Target a KPF either this year or next.
"Targeting" or reaching for KPF is how you end up with Weideman level chumps.

Take one if its warranted (pick 2 with your KPF perhaps at 4 on your draft board) but otherwise go the best available top 10.

I think you are getting angry mostly due to the length we all have to wait until the actual draft. I get it as I'm sick of it too. They should shorten trade week and combine both trade/draft picks so it's not one big long circle jerk for months on end.

Posters keep saying pick 2&3 for Reid from day 1 till now and it's probably getting annoying to you as you hear so much. We are still going through this bloody trade week that's dragging on so much and now most are sick of hearing it doesn't mean it's not right. I believe pick 2&3 is a minimum for Reid at pick 1. It's not wrong or unrealistic. I think that's where it's at in a shit draft like this one. It won't happen understandably because North wont do it so obviously pick 1 for Reid comes to us and everyone's happy. Anything less is average and not worth doing over drafting Reid. We rejected Hawks pick 4&their future 1st and later 1st rnd pick. Pretty simple we won't budge for anything less but it has to be said so many times because I actually think your suggestion of pick 2 and two late picks is being way off the mark here too so ranting that everyone's wrong serves no purpose. Let's all agree to disagree and just pick Reid. November 20 can't come soon enough.

Under 18 top 3 & 5 performers in stat categories.

GC academy & F/S's not in data. *Cleary connected to Swans academy. Looks like a steal for Sydney if he goes after pick 12.

Well when you look at it like that it's pretty clear then

North trade 2+3 for 1
Take Sanders at 1

You guys were super keen on him anyway right? Win win for everyone

To put a different spin on it.

If Nick daicos was to request a trade what would teams pony up? Legitimately, north would give 2 3 and F1 in a heart beat.

This is what the pieman is seeking. Because he knows that if we do take Reid, he lives up to the hype, and 3 yrs from now he seeks a trade, this is what teams will pay.

Eagles will trade 1 if they feel it's similar to what we might command in 3 yrs.

The difference in where clubs sit will be the risk reward equation. Are they willing to give up the sheep station for his potential. That's the game right now.

And I think the club are actually going to take him unless this type of offer is presented. Play him for three yrs, try convince him to stay, hope he becomes judd like and either way we win.

Not taking him for less will make us a laughing stock in Victoria and force eagle fan pitch forks at the gates.

When did the period of "not trade but picks can still be traded" become a thing? I get the afl want this to be like the NBA but there isn't the player or pick movement to justify sick a period.

Points wise that's only the equivalent of a free pick 6 so I think you've lost the plot if you think that's completely ridiculous for Harley Reid.

Sure, North won't do it, but as a minimum requirement for posters here to ask for if we end up shipping pick 1 it's not that unreasonable.

If you then factor in all the freebie picks North got (including 3 for McKay), I think you're just having an old man yells at cloud moment.
But Mop; 2 & 3 may be ridiculous but so is trading No1 thus nature balances itself

You are basically saying we are going to have a s**t year in regards to keeping players on the park. Surely after this much time and scrutiny that area alone will have the biggest influence on our rise up the ladder.
If; and it is if; Cripps, Yo , Ryan,Burgiel and …. Can spend more time on the field we will improve a LOT.
Flynn will give us grunt,Ginbey will be fitter and BIGGER,
BW into the forward line gives us another target.
Reid will be best 22 comfortably.
A lot of our kids have seen action and will be sick of getting belted.Rest assured Reid will not accept mediocrity!.
My prediction? 6-10 wins.
I didn’t imply anything about West Coast’s health, or ladder position for 2024.

The focus of my post was about West Coast needing to add extra top end talent via the draft, and basically your only means to do this is to split your first pick, this year or next year, or both.

As for the players you mentioned. Yeo is physically cooked. Can still put in a gun performance, but can’t stay on the park.

I guess the other possibility is 2 & 3 in exchange for 1 & something else (like maybe our second rounder or something like that).

I think it is more likely to cost Nth 2+3 but they get something back (probably 11).

So Melb have to be involved, trade 6+11 for 3.

If we are offered 2+6 we would seriously seriously consider it (that is McKercher + Curtin), I do hope we ask for a freebie pick also (18ish). They don’t really have a right to attach value to those picks so we may as well ask.

I prefer we take Reid, but 2,6,18 definitely gets it done.
