I agree with BP on this one...the romace of putting a ruckman in a key post and seeing him dominate is just that...romance. It rarely ever eventuates at all. Hampson as a pinch hitting tactic down forward maybe yes - as a defender, a big :thumbsd:
totally disagree re: your comments on white. Stepped up to alf level immediately and will be an extremely valuable defensive asset who can play on talls or mid forwards...definate plus :thumbsu:
you make some valid points, but he must be able to defend first, then use his skills...pinpointing passes is terrific, but having your forward spank you isn't.
Perhaps he's better suited to being the loose man in defence as oppossed to being responsible for a forward.
Johnson looked very uncomfortable and panicky playing in the Blues's defence - Morton spanked him. He has good disposal, but is a meek defender...I'd think Walker is a much better option
Hawthorn are younger than Carlton...they just won a flag.
They draft players who can win their own footy, and kick well. They also overdrafted for KPP in the hope a few of them will cut it.
Hopefully Wayne Hughes remembers this when he sizes up our next 6'1 running outside flanker who cant...
Eddie is forever improving which is great...but he definantly isn't a premier crumber...he's as good a crumber as Cloke is a CHF - B-grade.
However i suspect we haven't seen his best footy yet :thumbsu:
I couldn't agree more.
People thinking he can kick between 30-40 from CHF are dreaming - that was Earl's output in 95', and Cloke aint no Duke!!
...but I wish him well. :thumbsu:
He works hard to get the best out of himself, but quite simply he's not good enough. The same issues still remain as a ruckman - not tall enough, as a KPP too slow and immobile.
That said, I do hope he proves me wrong because I admire his effort.
Probably Wiggins for team balance.
Playing HFF, the majority of the workload is working up for the long lead.
If Fisher is playing below par...where else can he play to help the team out?? We are effectively a man down.
Wiggins probably has more versatility to help out as a mid/HBF if he is not...
We need him to bring more to the table than well barbered facial hair...
Fish is a very valuable forward when up and running, but there is a danger picking blokes that can only play in one spot on the park...it's ok if they are A-graders...he needs to be alot better more often
Fire up...
Oh didn't he?? It's players who use this as an excuse (as oppossed to improving their weaknesses) which worry me the most...it's not always someone else's fault.....
good luck to him though...:thumbsu:

...and imagine if Mark Athorn wasn't such a dud in 1993...
etc...
etc...
what if's are irrelavent, to dwell in that element is to dwell in a w***er's paradise.
