The whole thing was terrible to watch last year, even after the reverse top 10 they started interviews with players and parents and just posted the rest of the selections on a screen pop up.
We want to see the team management sitting there selecting our future players, not sit there and...
2011 forward line of:
HF: J. Oakley-Nicholls J. Kennedy J. Darling
FF: M. Lecras N. Naitanui D. Kerr
Put it to JON its his last chance, the kid has everything we need. Pace, good kick, outside player. He only needs 15-20 touches to have a big impact....
The rest of the lineup...
This seems a fair deal.:thumbsu:
Would add a bit a depth and experience we are looking for....
And Yarran has always been lazy, I remember watching him in the 08? WAFL GF versus Subi. He looked for every excuse to opt out of working hard, even grabbing at his hammy(cramping) in the third...
This opinion has seems on the money.......
Two ruckman is no enough to see out a whole AFL season, options are:
1. Draft Daniel Gorringe - it will still take time to develop him and leave us short in 2011 and maybe 2012.
2. Trade for a AFL ready ruckman, who???
3. Keep Q Lynch on the...
Just to clear one thing up.....West Coast have pick 26 in this years draft( thats if I read the very first post corrctly)!!!
That is after the premiership teams pick and any Rule 6 pick, of which WC have one......
On another note, some very large post happening here for not much....
Two new...
In this draft there is really only one ready made mid and that is Swallow, outside of him Smith,Gaff, Atley, Polec even Bennell in the last few years draft would not have been top 5 picks. On the other hand I think Darling and Gorringe probably would have...
I find it hard to think WC will...
Thanks Guys....glad you all noticed it too!!
One other thing Shuey shows is good football smarts, I recon you can the cogs turning when you watch him play, very busy footballer. Almost Hodge like for Hawthorn.....Gees I hope he gets half as good as hodge!!!
Watched the Port v WC game again and one thing really stood out was Luke's ability and willingness to support and encourage his teammates. Pats on the back, being there to pick team mates up off the ground and just a alround spirit of believe in his mates. Was it just me that saw this or did...
Rohan Bewick reminds me alot of Nate Fyfe of the dockers, not offical stats but he is about 6 foot in the old takes a good overhead marks and is a natural goal kicker, moves well and looks to be a good kick. he does wear strapping on one of his knees, not sure if it is an old injury and (recon)...
Our future forward line should look like this from next year,,,
M Lecras N Naitanui J Darling
A Selwood J Kennedy L Shuey
Maybe not A Selwwod but at the moment I think he is our best for negating HB role
Which of these forward lines of this weekends games looks more balanced?
West Coast
M. Lecras Wilson Naitanui
Ebert Kennedy Strijk
or....
West Perth
Saylor Darling Tsalikis
R. Bewick B. Lecras Salecic
Not bagging the WC lineup but as I was looking at the lineups in the paper today...
Lynch - an AFL premiership player.....
Nahas - a VFL player, proven nothing and not getting a game in front of some bloke called Webberley.
Get a clue!!!
One of coxy's better games this season...
Shame it was against the second worst team in the comp ATM. Problem is both Naita and Cox have been playing there best footy as the No 1 ruckmen, one has to go. Cox cant really play anywhere other then ruck and Naita is still to young to carry it by...
Agreed!
Jed Lamb just looks to have class written all ove him. Might be a bit of a stretch for him to still be around at picks 27-30 though. I would think he will go late first round would be my guess...
Do you think Gerrick Weedon or Jared Oakley-Nicholls could become that HHF for us next year or the next.. these young bloke need time to develop, saying we stuffed up the 07 draft is just silly. Ebert has been our best young mid this year, yes he does turn it over by foot, but show me another...
Get Josh Hill...
What are everyones thoughts......
I think Hill is the x-factor forward we need in our forward line, takes a good grab, he's quick and will help out and release Lecras.
I'm not saying he is the answer to all of our problems, but it will help create a dangerous forward line..
I think our backline will look like this in 2011...
Sam Butler Darren Glass Will Schofield
Ash Smith Eric Mckenzie Shannon Hurn
leaving brown to put pressure on the non performing tall backmen..
If Cox does somehow get to GC our drafting priorities would have to change....
To....
1. Day
2. Gorringe
3. Darling
That is if our first pick is at 4, so if GC passed on Day we would still have to take him, if he went at 3 and we didnt have Cox, would be mad if we didnt take Gorringe...
100% Agree 'PATIANTS'...we have committed to rebuild through the draft and picked a heap a inside/dependable players and now be prepared to think a little outside the box chasing the x factor players with a bit a flair.
W Schofield E Mackensie A Smith
B Waters M Brown S Hurn
B Sheppard M Priddis M Rosa
JON J Kennedy C Masten
M Lecras B Mckinley A Strijk
N Natanui B Ebert S Selwood
A Embley L Stevenson T Swift Q Lynch
So.......
Out : D. Cox, A...
Mitch Clark seems the best fit for us if we a looking at a 5 yrs player, he is a regular for the lions and was in contention for AA side last year.
If WC aim is to have a 1.5 ruckman set up he is the one.....Lynch 28yo Coxy 29yo once they have gone a Nata Clark como would be scary.....for the...
The bottom six is anyone guess, I havent put much time in to where exactly everyone will finish just a rough guess. I do think WC can win 3 of their remaining 6 games though.
Got a feeling it will be a very similar ending to last year....where WC finished 11th.
Something like
1. D Swallow
2. H. Bennell
3. S. Day (Suns)
4. A. Gaff (Bris)
5. Gorringe (Suns)
6. J. Darling (PA)
7. M. Watson (Suns)
(Big men take 2-3 years longer to develop so a spine of Day(FF) Gorringe(Ru)and Watson (CHB) would be appeling to the Suns)
8. S. Atley...
With it looking more and more likely that will will not finish last and get pick four. are we still looking at a tall forward or best available player.
What are peoples thoughts on the SA wingman Jared Polec, looks a bit of a left footed Brad Sheppard with a body shape that looks similar to...
The chances of JON becomeing a AFL player is 50/50, the thing that makes it a good decisions to have him on our list is that it cost us next to nothing to get him there.
Richmond made his market value top 10 in a national draft, and we have him on our list at the cost of a RD pick 50 +...
1. David Swollow (WA)
2. H. Bennell (WA)
3. Brodie Smith (SA)
4. Jared Polec (SA)
5. Luke Parker (VC)
Would be my top 5 Midfielders.... Andrew Gaff looks great also, but from games I have seen looks more of a link man half back type....
Good News, these youngsters can olny get better.
In three years we will be seeing stats on how much more experience West Coast teams have then any other side in the AFL.
Now, just need to work out how to do to bed tonight and sleep for the next three years....
With our first two picks (at this stage 4 and 27) would be great if we could get two from:
Jack Darling - Enough known
Brodie Smith (SA) - Taller type Mid
Jared Polec (SA) - Wing/Mid, similar to Gary Rohan
Sam Gray (SA) - Mid/HHF, might be the brother of Robbie looks and plays similar...
