Re: Round 12 trades

I agree Lower is a good D7/D8, but for some reason I just assumed I shouldn't keep both Heppell and Lower, and of the two, I'd rather keep Heppell.

Hmm, Lynch has so much more money to make, where as Darling seems to have peaked already. They are both averaging around the same the last 3 games, so I see no upside in getting rid of Lynch first.

What am I missing?

Do you mean trade out Lynch in a few rounds?

Lynch - will be in and out of the side (young body = rotations), Darling is young but in a mans body, i just think with Richardson also in your forwards (who should play this week) that keeping darling will be important. Benches will be very important come the last 6 rounds, if you don't plan for them now you'll end up with donuts...

Re: Round 12 trades

For the first part, I think it depends on the MPP. If you have a back-mid link and a forward-mid link then just trade out whoever does not provide you a MPP role. Personally, Prestia is probably the best to get rid of all things considered.

As for part two, if you need the money and need to trade one of Duigan and Lower, I would personally get rid of Lower as he will get less time on the ball as the season goes on IMO and his scored will decrease, however both he and Duigan will probably play out the year, so if money is not an issue I would get rid of Toy.

The problem is if I upgrade Prestia to GAJ, I'm left with only $200k in the bank, then financially it's gotta be Duigan or Lower traded for Fisher. Otherwise I can go Toy to someone like Broughton and try to grab Fisher later. Going for league win not overall..

Re: Round 12 trades

Why drop lower?? he is a geat D7 or D8 - Coad won't pay agian this year, bite the bullet and get him out - thus giving you more flexibility going forward... IMHO.. Lynch to your forward of choice is a good move then Coad to the best defender you can afford.......

I think you may have just convinced me to hold onto Lower and Darling.

I had planned on trading Darling then upgrading a mid (got $190 000 in the bank) which would have left me just enough to upgrade lower to fisher.

However my current bench warmers are average - McKernan, lynch, mzungu in the fowards. B.Smith, toy and Thompson in the backs (jacobs currently in mids) so I’m worried I won’t have enough depth going forward.

Losing McKernan and Toy costs me an extra trade (leaving my just 6 for the rest of the year) but I reckon for the advantage of having Lower and Darling as D8's it’s worth it.

Re: Round 12 trades

I have Sandilands and Franklin.

I have 13 trades remaining with $393,000.

I want to upgrade Knights/Darling and Lower/Stanley

Who are my best options.

Newman/Fisher?

Stevie J/Roughy/O'keefe?

bench cover will decide the ultimate winner as well as league finals, IMHO

Go Knights -> Stevie J

Lower [if u need the money to] > Fisher

If you can use Stanley drop him... as Lower is great bench cover but Stanley is alright.

simple maths - GAJ + Broughton =points per game........ or fisher + mid (whom u can afford) =points per game....

it is really that simple unless you want to wait for $$$ rises and falls

Re: Round 12 trades

Going to keep Tappy as he is only a couple weeks away, and will be great bench cover as Melb will play him every week. So getting rid of McKernan for I. Smith/Howe then upgrade Knights to Rioli.

Darling and Lower are staying in my team as bench cover, hoping they can maintain their price so they can become a straight swap for a fallen premium around finals.

Sounds good, but do you think Lower will hold his price of 350k?
I think his price might be inflated due to his 143pts. Which is now moving out of his 3 game average.

Re: Round 12 trades

If you are holding on to Lower then fluctuations in his price are irrelevant. Same as any keeper.

I was merely suggesting the price change, because he was hopin that he maintained his price (350k) to swap for fallen premiums... if he doesnt mind that lower could fall back down to 300kish then sure! :)

Re: Round 12 trades

Exactly what Im thinking of doing... I have 14 trades still so can afford a sideways trade.

Whats ur thinking behind this?

Anyone else wana comment on dropping swan for ablett?

Probably should have dumped D.Swan last week for Ablett.

Swan dropped 29k
Ablett went up 33k

So a big price to pay 62k...

Stanley to Fisher and Knights to SJ IMO.

Re: Round 12 trades

And you've already lost bulk coin on swan. it would be as silly as trading out roo and goddard. If you didn't have them, you would be calling them bargains and bringing them in, so why trade them out if you already have them

Anyway, my trades will be

This week -
Darling - ROK
Lower - Enright

Next Week
Krakour - Howe (pending his performance)
Duigan - Fisher

Leaves me with
Fisher, Deledio, Shaw, Goddard, Enright, Gibbs, Heppel (Puopolo, retzlaff, toy)

Pendles, Ablett, Swan, Mundy, Selwood, Cotchin (Hibberd (D/M), Mzungu (F/M), Gaff)

Cox, Sandi (Z Smith, Derickx)

Franklin, Pav, ROK, Goodes, Harvey, Reiwoldt, Lynch (Matera, Howe, Richardson)

Will leave me with 12 trades and only lynch to upgrade. (heppel is in the top 10 backline averages so he will be a keeper)

This = voice of reason :thumbsu:

Re: Round 12 trades

Okay im settled on:

Lower > Howard [prob wont get Nicholson]
(Stanley/Puoplo/Duigan got me covered)

Swallow > Ablett vs Priddis

Just going for a league win and Priddis just seems the better option?
Has a sweet run home at the end of the year: Dogs, Richmond, Melb, Ess, brisbane & Adelaide!

Re: Round 12 trades

So, this week going:

Stanley -> Nicholson/Howard
Bewick -> Ablett

Gotta say, Bewick has been the most disappointing rookie I've had in a long time. It was between him and Harris, and trading Harris would give me so much more money for later trades, however Bewick has been so useless that I really can't rely on his 'cover'.

Who do people think will have better JS out of Nicholson and Howard? Scoring potential?

EDIT: Or, do I just use the one trade and go Harris to Priddis and keep Bewick on the bench all season.

Will this still work if you can trade out Matera? Darling is pretty great bench cover
As a forward line with Lynch and bench cover of Matera/Howe and Richardson -> isnt very strong.

Just putting it out there!
And i'd upgrade Matera before Lynch?

hah. im gonna ignore the username and try to be unbias =P and help out!

Well of all the backmen available this week and next, Toxic and myself have suggested that
Howard[dogs supporters seem to be happy with him based on their boards, with confidence might get a lot more of the pill. They are comparing him to a Gilbee?]
Nicholson(has MPP, but scoring isn't so great) are the two best options in terms of JS.

Strauss seems to be holding a place for tappy/batram.

What are your thoughts on Ablett vs Priddis? I noticed you mentioned both haha just like me. What is your rationale?

Ablett - simply capable of bucket loads more points, in a game with capped points (3300) for both teams, Ablett will get amuch larger share of the suns points versus the eagles points, Priddis despite being a ball magnet is like Sam Mitchell for the hawks - too many other good players taking the greater % of points from him compared to Ablett who even in losing sides, such as last weekend, will score a greater % of the points... hope that helps and it is just my opinion.
