Re: Rd 13 Trades

Tough one. I guess one thing to take into consideration is whether you're going for league or overall success. Melbourne's Rd 16 multi bye is going to be tough for those with overall aspirations, as they share it with Adelaide and Freo and Freo especially have several SC favourites. On the other hand, if you're just going for a league win, Melbourne's bye is of no consequence.

Having said that, I've got both of them...

Yeah, only going for league win in a cash league.
Ended up going with Smith, as it just opens so many more options with the MPP he has.
Now the next issue is... does he get a start. Smith V GC or Darling V Port.
Starting with Darling at the moment (until I get convinced otherwise) he has been slow the last few weeks, but at Subi against Port is hard to resist. Smith at the Suns is mouth watering too... but just too likely to be made the sub.

Re: Rd 13 Trades

Darling to Howe and then Krakour to Rioli? I already have franklin, goodes, riewoldt, higgins, sylvia, mzungu, matera, richardson in the forward line

Re: Rd 13 Trades

Have Swan, Boyd, Boak and Hodge in the midfield at present and will be bringing in Pendles next week.

Best option out of Murphy, Judd and priddis for the last spot??

Leaning towards Murphy.....

Re: Rd 13 Trades

I'm going for a league win (rather than overall), but I'm fairly confident I'll win my first final and get the week off...
I need to get rid of Mundy and I'm tossing up between Bartel, O'Keefe (MPP and league bye) and Mitchell. Thoughts? :)
So going for league win (RoK) but you reckon you could have the 2nd finals week off (Bartel)... I'd go Mitchell. :p

Re: Rd 13 Trades

Could bring in Petrie this week for Z smith
Then would have to bring in J Tippet in fwds so he isin't wasted on the ruck bench.
Smith > Petrie
Richardson > Tippet

Will swap petrie to F7 when Sandi is back which then means Didak becomes bench cover for my foward line.
Is that a waste of 2 trades then?
I've only got 8 as it is:eek:

Re: Rd 13 Trades

Just did OUT: Luke Thompson, Brandon Matera

IN: Jeremy Howe, James Strauss

Have nearly $300,000 in the kitty with 11 trades, am setting myself up to trade in Cloke at a touch over $400,000 next week and upgrade a rookie midfielder for an under priced premium and my team will be set.

Re: Rd 13 Trades

Who has more job security Isaac Smith or Jeremy Howe?

I can't speak for Smith, but Howe has impressed in his two games thus far. If he keeps presenting well then he won't be dropped, but in saying that we have a lot of mid-sized forwards competing for the same positions (Petterd, Dunn, Bate etc. all in the VFL last week), so if he has a couple of quiet ones he could go.

I'd rank them as Murphy > Priddis > Judd, assuming you're aware of Carlton's round 23 bye (if going for a league win).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my side at full strength:

B: Scotland, Deledio, Goddard, H Shaw, Gibbs, Enright, Heppell (Duigan, Stanley, Batchelor)
C: Pendlebury, Boyd, S Thompson, Judd, Mundy, J Selwood (I Smith, B Jacobs, Irons)
R: Cox, Petrie (Z Smith, Bailey)
F: Pavlich, Franklin, Harvey, Goodes, N Riewoldt, Chapman, Krakouer (Darling, Mzungu, Richardson)

11 trades, $6,600, going for overall.

Problems in red. Is it worth trading Selwood? Maybe:

Darling <> Howe
Selwood <> Ablett

.. and next week..

Mundy <> Swan

Thoughts? Eurgh.

Thanks, that really helped me decide ;)
Mitchell has Hawthorn's easy run, but Bartel's is pretty good too and I think he's a better player and a slightly better scorer. But, it's a R22 vs R20 bye and Mitchell does play GC twice. So they're pretty neck and neck with Mitchell not having a finals bye, but Bartel is cheaper.
Then, RoK is in between price-wise and will have a great run for the next couple of games and might average a wee bit less than both, but his bye is during the SC league bye which is handy...
I'm confuzzled

Not worried about league so will go with Murphy.

Reckon you have to move on Selwood if you can afford the trade. Misses 5 out of the remaining 12 games...

Re: Rd 13 Trades

Hey everyone, wow lots of movement this week...ok so I am torn between two options:
1. out Heppell (huge BE this week plus thinking about the bye in R24) and in ROK/then Swallow for Boyd (will then shift ROK into the forward line). Essentially this is a double upgrade; I currently have 650K in the bank.
2. Heps for ROK/Matera for Howe....and then Boyd next week before his price explodes (based on the too serious stats).

Will there be any downgrades next week as Howes, Strauss' and Tuohy bubble will obviously burst this week?

Also there are inconsistencies in the Too Serious website; on the stats page it says ROK price increase in 3 weeks will be 30K odd whilst in the stat predictor page it says around a 30K drop.....someone?

NOTE: there is obviously the possibility I have misread all of these stats, so much to absorb its ridiculous.

Re: Rd 13 Trades

One downgrade and a sideways trade this week

Matera to Smith

Selwood to Boyd

13 Trades left and my team is:

B: Deledio Goddard Gibbs Enright Broughton Lower Duigan (Puopolo, Hibberd & Howard)

C: Boyd Judd ROK Ablett Hodge Heppell (Swan, Illes & Jacobs)

R: Cox Bailey (Sandi & Smith)

F: Pavlich Franklin Goodes Rielwoldt Darling Knights Mzunga (Smith, Krakouer & Richardson)

Re: Rd 13 Trades

was anyone brave enough to head down the Wells path this week?
I chickened out...selwood > jim bartel

Dont get sucked in; yes he Wells has had a cracking few weeks but thats exactly what it is....a FEW weeks, if he keeps it up every week then he will probably win the Brownlow. At the end of the day it is a no brainer; 80% of people with any knowledge of the AFL would select Bartel before Wells, especially if based on consistency.

Re: Rd 13 Trades

Who do I start on?
Petrie v Dons or Hale v GC without Smith

and

Darling or Mzungu?

You said you were going league focus... Thus, I reckon if you're thinking RoK you're focused on conservitive leauge 100%. No byes, generally strong finisher to the year in a team looking to win a top 4 place. However, Bartel will give you a potentially stronger output over a longer period than Rok. If you are dead certain you will have the 2nd week off then go Bartel if you think he'll score better than RoK. However, if you go Mitchell he gets GC x2 (overall), plays GC in the GF (league) but has a bye in a league playing round.

Hale for shizzle, yes I follow Essendon but GC without Smith means potentially a day out for Hale...the Bombers still have two very competent ruckman playing.

Mzungu; based on the fact he is a mature age rookie who will most likely play the rest of the season whilst Darling is the junior burger who simply does not have the build to play at his peak for 22 rounds..
