Dunstan/Kennedy Harris would be a nice 1st round/2nd round combo. 1 strong inside player and a quick outside player. If we finish 3-5 I wouldn't mind trading Player A and Pick X (3-5) for Player B and Pick Y (7-10).

Curran has an opportunity to perform in the NAB cup. If he'd done really well he might have got an elevation.
He didn't.
So for mine there is a question mark over his ability to step up to the next level.

Spot on. Even last year he wasn't that impressive in NAB Cup.

I would love to pick up Josh Kelly in the first round of the draft this year, depending on where we finish on the ladder. I have played with him and he is an absolute gem. His build is relatively small however it doesn't let it stop him from finding the pill. His positives definitely outweigh his negatives. His skills are sublime, he tackles and wins the contested footy, runs from one end of the ground to the other continuously and to top it off his attitude and maturity levels are top notch. I know alot of you believe he is too small but he will turn out to be a gun of a player.

Another player is Christian Salem, would love for him to sneak into the second round. Another player i have played against, his skills are just as good. He has a very good size to him and could really see him as one of those half forward flankers that will kill the opponents with his foot skills. He also has a dash of pace about him not the quickest but reasonable acceleration. I would think he would be around the mid-late 1st round of the draft, however would love to have both Josh and Christian on the list next year.

Nick Haynes from GWS, could be target if he's not contracted for next year..

After being selected by the GIANTS with pick number 7 in the NAB AFL Draft, Haynes made his AFL debut against the Geelong Cats in Round 10.
Haynes played a total of eight matches in his inaugural season, his best performances coming in the final two rounds of his first season. The promising young midfield and forward prospect racked up 19 disposals against St Kilda in Round 22 and 15 disposals against North Melbourne in the final round.

Previous Player History

Nick Haynes is a 19-year-old forward from the Dandenong Stingrays in Victoria.
Represented Vic Country at the NAB AFL U18 Championships as a 19-year-old after playing locally with the Frankston Bombers at senior level in 2010.
He has great agility, takes a good overhead mark and shows very good running and aerobic capacity.
In the TAC Cup he averaged 17.4 disposals and six marks with the Stingrays, winning his club’s best and fairest award.
The GWS GIANTS selected Nick with their selection number 7 in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft.

The worry with Haynes is that, while he has a bucket load of talent and poise, he just doesn't seem to have the killer instinct needed to play midfield at AFL level. Would be a nice hbf/hff but wouldn't be worth paying overs to get him just because he previously went at #7.

Thats what I notice too. You hear all these saints supporters screaming "Curren Curren! Ledger Ledger" But they never even seen them play. From what ive seen of both of these players. They just can't dispose the ball properly under AFL like pressure. Could be time to cut them loose at seasons end. Possible trade bait to sydney.

I haven't seen a lot of him myself, & was keen to hear some feedback. An out of contract top ten draft pick from a couple of years ago, don't often come along. He's a local product, & that's why i threw his name up.
With an abundance of 188cm defenders, would we cut a James Gwilt loose, in exchange for a potential A grader..?

My only thoughts on that are that Gwilt is fairly unique. He's a different sort of player to Roberton, Gilbert, Fergason, and there are times when that comes in pretty handy.
To me he's close to the safest pair of hands in the team.

Said it last week Rahul. Boyd and Spencer would be a premiership winning forward combo. I think there is a huge chance we could snaffle him at pick 5!!!
No chance lol......

Need to finish below Dogs to even have a chance, Find that unlikely. GWS may even get him at #1 imagine the Cameron/Patton/Boyd combo.

If by "huge" you mean "pretty much none whatsoever, unless he gets a major injury, or a miracle occurs", you would be correct! :D:p

In fact, maybe this is the main reason we are picking the teams we are at the moment, because we're playing for bottom spot and Boyd!

What would dal santo and fisher be worth in a package deal . Need to shuffle the deck while there is some value. Otherwise we will have another koschitzke situation on our hands . Too crap to trade but has/ had role to play at times

Unless i am wrong, But Dal Santo can go for nothing though FA unless we open the clause in his contract i think..

Melbourne, GWS and Gold Coast will pass him over IMO. Us and the Bulldogs
GWS have immense midfield depth already and wanted Kurt Tippett (who they missed out on) to add to Patton and Cameron, so unless they get Buddy, I expect they will grab Boyd (especially now that Patton has done his ACL) and have heard on the D&T board that they have a massive hard-on for him. They also love their "Vic Boys" so would probably take him for that reason as well over Aish.

Melbourne would also probably grab him, to free up Clark to play in the ruck after Jamar goes and to form a formidable partnership with Hogan up forward for up to 12-14 years. They'll have plenty of time to grab more "mids" down the track, but the likes of Boyd don't come along all that often and you'd have to have a damn good reason to overlook him and I don't think Melbourne have it, as they are probably in no massive hurry.

Gold Coast would probably also grab him and run, as they already have Bennell, Swallow, O'Meara, Martin, Lonergan, Prestia, Mackenzie etc in their future midfield (which is already looking phenomenal on paper) and a forward line of Boyd, Dixon and Lynch could be incredible, possibly freeing up May and Day to play down back with Rory Thompson. They could win multiple flags with that team.

If we continue on the way we are going, pick 5 or so and Dal Santo might just get us pick one or two, but probably only if GWS land Buddy through free agency and decide that they don't want/need Boyd. GWS will also have a pick around 10, so if they are looking to add some experience (particularly finals and GF experience) to their team (and someone who could still be around in 3-4 years) then they might look hard at Dal with that pick, especially if he is someone SOS really rated and liked. Other teams in finals contention would as well, but they wouldn't have anything much more to offer us than a pick around 15 at the very lowest.
