Okay I take it it's not the healthiest. My bad. :$ I haven't been keeping tabs on this thread, way too much projecting this far out.

I don't expect Hurley to come to St Kilda, but can someone please start a Hurley thread in the main board to just for shits and giggles?
In regards to Hurley. I gotta admit im a teensy weensy bit timid about dipping back into the Essendon cesspool to get any body to our club.
Yeah i know we got a good year out off Max Crow when he won our B&F , but that was a loooong bloody time ago.
Timmy Watson coached about as well as Harold Holt swam.
Lovett was an out n out disaster.
And although im one of the few who back Carlisle 100% , its fair to say it ended up another trade from essendon that went about as smoothly as a square shaped suppository.

Essendon have left a bad taste in my mouth like a shit flavoured chuppa chup. I wanna have NOTHING to ever do with that rabble of a club ever again.
Shouldve been kicked out of the AFL for 2 yrs IMO.

Is hurley out of contract? Would be a great get but would rather spent our cash on a gun young mid. Maybe a cheaper and younger option would be tomlinson ? I know he seems to get talked about every year but would fit awesome in the dempster /fisher style , that we desperately Need. Just wish there was a half decent midfielder keen to test free agency this year

He can leave as a DFA as can all the essenpoo players

Hurley was actually due to become a RFA this year anyway. Not sure if he's contracted despite his get out clause.

Im actually into Jack Watts as a FA. Have not been a fan in the past but think he was just a very late bloomer. Will find form now and I think he's the type of player we need now our KP stocks are good. Will be good at hbf / wing.
Not 700k but 5-550 will be value.

Myers is another good player coming into FA. Has been down on form but is worth a punt. Could be a very good player.

No.

Not Jack Watts

EVER!!!!!!

lachie weller is all class. saw him slot two lovely goals from outside/around 50 today

alex pearce still has a way to go, got beaten in the goal square one on one and then didnt follow up quick enough to stop the match winning goal. but he will be an amazing KPD absolutely massive unit

tanner smith is a w***er. cross him off the list.

hannath and clarke did sweet **** all for how much height advantage they had 10-15cm+

blakely is one i'd be watching (add him to the langdon list), although unlike langdon he's probably not going to leave WA

I doubt watts will be anywhere near 700-500 cash but I don't mind jack and do think his best footy is in front of him.(which is not hard) needs a bit of love and seems to be getting lately , so might see him flourish this year

I really rate Tom Lee, think he has alot of talent and ideally think he should be able to play our third tall role.

Lastly as ghost said, he is a favourite whipping boy of our fans, however it isnt very often the Pelican brings a player on a list that isnt talented. Lee could be anything - he just needs some luck to fall his way.

Pelchen had many failures. I don't even understand the comment. As for the third tall I'm unsure footy is going the way of a third tall. Some sides have them and some don't. Most have players working up and down the ground whether tall medium or short. As for lee well he probably does play this week so it's up to him as to whether he holds his spot. I'm sure the club would rather play Goddard but he needs to prove his form is good enough

He didn't say he was infallible, he said that he wouldn't pick someone with no talent. Two entirely different things. I don't understand your response.

Did I say pelchen didn't have a failure? No, I said it isn't very often pelchen brings in a player who doesn't have talent. As for Lee, I think he has a spot as the third tall defender. Clean disposal a decent grab and by playing defence he can't get lost trying to find the ball.

No you didn't say he didn't have failures but every player brought into the system has talent but that doesn't mean they cant be failures and he had a fair few. Talent doesn't make him a good recruiter. Justin Sweeney had more talent than half on the list when he played but was it a good pick? No it was a shocking pick. And I know that wasn't Pelchen who took him, just an example. I'm guessing you and me could pick a player with talent without seeing one game of footy. Such a generic word is talent. Not a reason to rate or not rate Lee. And his ego annoyed the crap out of me and I can assure you many others at the club. And I admit I'm biased but I still base it on some facts. As I said I think Lee will play this game because this side does have 3 genuine tall forwards and Goddard doesn't seem yet but not as many sides have 3 talls in todays footy so there isn't the need for 3 tall defenders.

We must have some serious ****ing idiots running our club if they find Tom Lees ego a reason for not playing him. Imagine if Nathan Buckley or Carey had been held back for ego reasons. I met Ablett senior and you would be hard pressed to find a bigger **** wit in existence but I'm glad that his ego didn't stop Geelong playing him. Apparently our coach doesn't like guys with individualist traits. I was told by a couple players they need to shave and be clean cut to get games....it's a worry we don't pick on form.

How does Josh Bruce go with that rule?

And you arent really comparing Lee to Buckley and Ablett are you?

I'm just suggesting that if as Plugger says he's not in our planning because he's a bit of an off field flog then we have idiots in charge. I find that extremely self defeating to not play guys with beards or egoism. If they had held Bruce back we wouldn't have a 50 goal forward as you suggest. It seems Bruce has a different set of rules that others are held to. So I'm not sure how that works.
