12 is massive overs

ordinarly yes, but look at the issue brisbane have. they're grabbing the high end draft talent, only for them to turn around 2-3 years later and leave for a lot less.

they have cameron, who's very very good, wanting to go there. i dont think they can wait 12 months for stuff to potentially change

brisbane will already have a handful of first rounders, i reckon they just need to grab the kid and lock away a player for the next 7 years

something like:
Pick 12 -> adelaide -> Cameron
Pick 20 + Schache -> collingwood -> Pick 6

values schache at pick 25. Pick 20 is currently pick 18, but the rockliff and motlop compo will push it down

gives them Pick 1, 6 and Cameron

19 is a great result for the crows

Cameron has Christensen written all over him imo. Looks better in a dominant side than he really is. And even then some games he's completely non existent. I'd stay away if I were Lions... Well for that price anyway

As ive said no idea where they will come from but surely I'm allowed to be disappointed if all the trading ends up with us using 7 and 8 in the draft and as others can be thoroughly excited by that prospect.
you can be disapointed but its just a strange comment to say you hope we dont have 7&8 but dont offer what it is you hope we do have ? i know i know a classy mid but who ?

He's contracted and Brisbane just need to make sure they get him. They struggle to get guys that want to stay their and it's hard to get guys to come to the club.

I also think people overrate draft picks. The chances of pick 12 being better than Cameron is probably 50/50.

Think we tried our best
Fyfe
Kelly
Gaff

Martin?

None about

We now sit on our 7 and 8 and see what happens.

Not like they didn't try.

7 and 8 isnt a bad worst case scenario. Have said it from the start.
exactly .. there are much much worse positions to be in than having two top ten picks as your worst case ... i dont get the disapointment especially when its not like we lost our targets to other teams they all just decided to stay

Listening to Trade Radio and the consensus their is that Josh Schache is worth a pick between 15 to 20

Given the kid is contracted, a number 2 draft pick only a few years back and likely the best KPF if he was in this draft then surely Brisbane would want more??

Carlton and Collingwood are super interested so I would be quite happy to offer Carlton our pick 8 and a future 2nd or 3rd rounder for their pick 3

The points value is equal if we give them our future 2nd rounder but if Carlton are desperate they may be happy with future 3rd which is slightly in our favor

Carlton could then give Brisbane pick 8 for Schache which I think is around the mark for the reasons stated above

So St.Kilda - Out Pick 8 and future 3rd rounder - In Pick 3
Carlton - Out Pick 3 - In Schache and future 3rd rounder
Brisbane - Out Schache - In Pick 8

We go to draft with pick 3 & 7

Rayner has apparently made it clear that he doesn't want to go interstate so we potentially get him with pick 3 - then pick 7 on Bonar, Coffield or Cerra

I thought he'd be worth a top 10 pick, would hate to think what McCartin would get now if he requested a trade :(

I only listened to 10 minutes of trade radio but I'm pretty sure I heard the Adelaide rep say they had had moved past Gibbs and that Cameron was contracted and a required player. He gave no indication whatsoever that they would consider trading him.

Of course they did. It doesn't mean that they won't trade him though.

I highly doubt Carlton are going to let us upgrade from 8 to 3 by giving them a future second.

I would be telling the sookylala mumma's boy to STFU - you will go where we get the best trade for you - be that Carlton, Richmond, Melbourne, Hawthorn or Collingwood

He should be thankful that the Brions have agreed to trade him back to a Melbourne club
The kid is contracted and happy to stay or so Brisbane say, he has protected them by signing a 2 year extension.

Brisbane are happy to trade him and he's happy to go if the right trade can be made, Collingwood have pick 6 that with something coming back would make Brisbane very happy.

Why is the kid a mummy's boy because he wants to play his football in his home state closer to his family, seems pretty reasonable to me.

It doesn't look like we're going to get any trades, should probably go to the draft..

On a side note, Bartel said he wanted to come out of retirement and play again. Valuable experience and leadership anyone?

I don't see how its strange at all. I trust the list management so if we don't have 7 or 8 then I'm guessing we got a deal we liked. And I have offered what we could do. for a start about 3 times today. I said I hope we trade for a very good and star player or upgrade both those picks for a better pick in the draft. As for who if we trade well how would I know. Probably 90% of the names on here we have mentioned were probably never going for so why would I just make up a name.

i think thats the angle theyre going for

brisbane have learnt from the dogs shooting themselves in the foot and GWS the trade periods before with mccarthy

Probably less but people love hope.

He's sooky because he hardly tried all year. He should say he's happy to get back to a melbourne club to try to help out Brisbane. He signed a two year contract so he's a weird unit. Players who want out after 2 or 3 years probably should have told them at the draft interviews.

You like guessing so I will guess on the signing. I think both agreed to do it and if they decided to part it suits Brisbane that he is contracted and it suits him because Brisbane will get him to the club he wants. And he should say where he wants to go if he wants. And he may not have wanted out at the draft interviews.

Hopefully Carlton make a play for schache.

Out St Kilda, 7,8 hickey
In St Kilda: 3, Carlton 2018 first, 19

Out Carlton: 3, 2018 first
In Carlton: 7, schache

Out Brisbane: schache, 19
In Brisbane: 8, Hickey

We get Rayner (assuming Melb or bust) and an Ameet special in 2018 “superdraft”

Carlton get schache for next years first and a 4 pick downgrade

Brisbane get 8 & Hickey for schache & 19
