Really disappointed just a poor way to end a good year. Every player bar Jack should be pissed off with there output. In saying that I though Castagna Higgins Nank Astbury Grimes played there roles well.
Collingwood far to good not only did they play our brand they added in there height just like west coast did.
Personally don’t know why we resigned bash for another year depth perhaps.
I would be trading Conca aswell.
We now need to rejig our game plan by adding in another tall in Lynch further to that the concern was there talks around the ground aswell.
Adding in Lynch will add another dynamic we desperately need.
From tonight’s team for round one
OUTS: Conca (traded) Houli Grigg
INS: Lynch Butler and one of Balta or Markov

Pies smashed us from the start. Grundy, Sidebottom, De Goey, Cox and Varcoe early killed us. Not sure what hurts more, this loss or the elimination final against 9th placed Carlton. Oh well, on to next year.

Honourable loss from you guys
Shame about your injuries.

Good luck with Tom lynch next year. You guys are closer than you think.

I hope y'all enjoy the time off. I'll be enjoying the grand final next week.

Collingwood torched us and let's be honest, we deserve the shit coming our way. Onto next year and hope this group is resilient enough to work through the tough times.

My thoughts tonight are what I've been saying all year.

Rance is done as a one on one defender. Let this game be a lesson that if we try and use him in a negating role against a good forward we are shooting ourselves in the foot. We helped Collingwood by actually playing on a bloke that he couldn't peel off and had to defend. Bad coaching move.

Conca is average at best in big games. He is handy depth but he'll never be what we want him to be.

Jayden Short showed his deficiencies. Defensively he looked very ordinary when under the pump.

Thanks to all these Tigers for the past 2 seasons. We still love the club and are proud of their efforts. They gave us everything they had and we weren't good enough tonight. Let's come back better next year.

A disappointing end to the year of course, but I'm glad we at least showed some fight in the second half. Probably didn't quite deserve to lose by 39 points.

Honestly I think we've coasted for most of the second half of the season and were fortunate nobody really rose to the challenge sooner. Teams like Collingwood and Melbourne have timed their runs well. Where last year we would thrash Fremantle and St Kilda, this year we would put our cue in the racks if we were well up and seemed to lack that same ruthless streak.

Jack was a champion to the end, Grimes never beaten, Higgins a great talent. We can learn the lessons and make 2019 our year again.

Go Tiges, but until then, go Melbourne I guess (urgh).

Rance on De Goey - I get trying it, but to persist, is absolutely SPUD coaching.

Lack of 2nd tall finally hurt.

Jack - slow start, but boy showed why he is A grade.

Grimes - fast becoming my hero.

Vlas great 1st half.

Higgo will be good for a long time for us - he looked to be hurting more then most.

Cotch tried, but did look sooky a few times out there.

Pretty disappointing effort.

But Credit to the Pies, played us perfectly.
Cant question Cotch's captaincy and he has single handedly got us over the line in games but sometimes by foot he is really disappointing and for a player of his stature should be much better.

The Pies nailed every single tackle tonight and thats our game, it then created perceived pressure which led to our unusual poor and rushed disposals. Thats probably the best i have seen a Collingwood team play for a long long time.

Yeah - we’ll done Pies
Don’t like some of them but most are just blokes like ours - playing footy.

Well deserved - they played their best game of the year and we played one of our worst.

In the scheme of things we defended last year pretty well.

Winning two in a row is very very tough.

I’m proud of the club.

Let’s stay gracious in defeat- sign of a bigger man.

"It's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all".

It's better to be premiership favourites and knocked out in the preliminary than to have been making up the numbers as we have done in most years other than '17. It is a kick to the guts - especially against Collingwood - and so it should be. A great season with records set but now deficiencies evident. Time for another team to enjoy the spotlight and the glory.

Let's reclaim it in 2019.

The most worrying thing about tonight's game was that our forward pressure gameplan seems to have been worked out. It did not help us at all in stopping Collingwood from leaving our backline as they just waited for someone close by to kick short to. The aim of our pressure is to force a defender to bomb from the backline to either one of our player or a contest, where we can win the ball back. Was pretty much rendered useless tonight by their unexpected short kicking to a free man.

I thought weeks ago Collingwood would be a danger team for us.
I still can't see them defeat WC though.
If they play like that they should beat WC.
We struggled against WC because they smashed us in the air.
Tonight showed pies can match them there and they have them covered at ground level. Then add in the home ground as well.

But, they may also come back to earth next week too

How good was rance tonight! First Jenkins and now big cox!!

Haven’t seen a bigger one hit wonder then Billy Ray Cyrus!

Good luck next week.......
Shouldn’t you be more concerned with tomorrow, your mob aren’t there yet. Use your real account too campaigner.
