Yeah, just what I had in mind at the time. You're right though, 10 on it's own won't get it done. I was thinking 18 would be enough for Howard & Ryder, probably overs when I think about it. 12 and 18 for Howard Ryder and 10 is a fair deal I reckon. Then give 10 to Fremantle for Hill along with probably next years 2nd...don't know if that's coming from us, Port or Sydney though.

Back to the Hill trade....it seems this is still being thrashed out? Are those ITKs who were last night saying they knew the deal still maintaining that? Is the deal done and just waiting for......what?

It sounds like the Howard/Ryder deal will be done regardless. Picks 12 & 18 for 10 + Howard/Ryder.

Pick 10 then forms part of the trade for Hill. It then becomes providing the remainder that satisfies Freo.

Latest reporting states “Freo will have a multiple 20’s picks”. They already have one so I assume they are getting pick 29 from Port in the deal.

The dogs are potentially a key forward just like bruce away from a real shot at a flag- Bains will not be sitting back, happy to take or leave bruce at all.
He will be madly scrambling to make something happen.
We are the ones that are sitting back because the dogs are far more desperate for bruce than we are to gain what bruce would get us (jones).

We will hardly be crying a river if that champion zac jones doesn't come- which is a great position to be in, all the more so now with bing off the radar... bruce remains as valuable to our plans as ever.

The Stuv situation is different because (for reasons completely out of the control of the club), Jack only wants 1 club- and that club seemingly are more than happy to not get him at all unless it's for sweet FA.

You'd get bored negotiating against him every day. It's like when I used to play chess against my dog and all these people are saying things like "wow, look how smart your dog is" and I'm like "he's only beaten me twice? I'm still up by at least 20 games!" There's a point where the lack of competition makes it boring...

I agree Joff. The people on here moaning about the future first being used and how much it will hurt us - jesus. It's not the end of the world. Like I said last night, it's amazing to even be nominated by five players but to find a way to get them to the club with only one first rounder and future picks is amazing.

You want to come to the Saints, we'll find a way to get you there - the quintessential destination club!

which values Howard and Ryder at 514 points which between Pick 35/36

that's a very good deal!

from port's perspective it's Pick 12 (1268) + Pick 18 (985) for Pick 10 (1395) + Howard + Ryder

which values Howard and Ryder at 858 points which is between Pick 21/22

i think its a pretty damn good trade for both parties

port split their pick in and even top 20 once ya get past the first two
