This is unlikely as it's pretty much just 10 and Acres, but possible when you consider 22 gets used on Henry.

We'd have to give up at least one more late pick, if not 2 for points though. if we can get another late pick or two in the Bruce deal we can use them to give to Freo.

So 10, Acres, next years 2nd, 3 picks in the 50's

For Hill and 22
Thats a terrible trade. Giving them 5 picks and Acres for Hill and a 2nd - thats way too much.

okay I’m having a crack.

freo get: pick 10, future 2020 2nd round pick, Blake acres, pick 58

saints get: Bradley hill, pick 71, 2020 future third round pick.

someone want to do the maths there with the DVI?

That seems to me pretty reasonable for all parties. 58 and 71 is a glorified pick swap and the third rounder means we can package our third rounder with something else for jones. Maybe that bonus fourth rounder and use 71 on butler.

This is all assuming the dogs don’t come to the party re: Bruce

It's either 10 & Acres or 10 & future 2nd.

Someone made a post today that was pretty spot on about us agreeing to 10 & future 2nd and the Geelong deal threw a spanner in the works. I forgot who posted it but two scenarios he posted were pretty much bang on.

Basically if Geelong gave us a pick in the 30's we would off-load it to Sydney for Jones, however they settled on pick 58 which now means we use that for Butler and the future 2nd we would give to Fremantle now goes to Sydney for Jones. This is what I've been told is the reason that Acres is now in play.

Any word on what's in the works for Bruce?

And by all reports, Richmond may accept an even later pick for Bulter. They seem happy to let him got for nothing just so help further his career.

I was pi**ed at 10 a future 2nd and Acres!

We couldn't be that stupid to make it a future 1st could we?
No way it happens. Club has been pretty strong in that next years 1st isn't going anywhere.

We started the trade period with 6 and 55.

Now we have Howard, Ryder, will get Butler for nothing and Jones for likely a future 2nd.

Giving 10 for Hill and a player like Acres, who I love but honestly has been inconsistent in his six years (many reasons, but still, inconsistent) I think in the cold light of day is still a pretty damn good outcome.

Effectively it's 6, 55 and a future 2nd for Hill, Ryder, Howard, Butler and Jones.

Stuv & Bruce are separate to that.

I still think we win big here.

that would make sense. is it possible if Acres rules out the 2nd, then maybe we send Pick 58 with Acres to help them with academy points? that would explain why stuv didn't go through today. as the scenario is pending the acres medical?

that keeps our 2nd rounder in place and we look at doing the jones deal with that or what ever the bruce deal gets us?

Fremantle will announce, tomorrow before lunch time, that they have decided to walk away from the Brad Hill trade if Bell's demands are not met beforehand. At that point there will be no further communication between Fremantle and Saint Kilda until after the trade period has ended. Fremantle will shift the entirety of its focus onto other targets.

Thank Christ for that!
I never doubted it for a second tbh

Think we should look at the end results of the trade period in their entirety tomorrow night TB.

We’re paying overs for Hill but well unders for Howard.
Let's not look at things through rose coloured glasses here!
The Howard deal is not way unders at all! It's just fair and about right!

The Hill deal on the other hand is a complete reaming with no rimming or lube involved!

FMD that little Bellend had his way with Satan!
The end of the world is nigh folks.....I'm scared!

Surely its just Bruce for Jones.
Hoping we hold onto Bruce, but Gags alluded today to the fact he's probably gone. If you're saying Bruce's pick for Jones then yeah, I think they mentioned pick 32.

Ideally I agree with you - Jones for pick 32 (Bruce pick), then give Freo pick 10 and the future 2nd, and keep Acres.

Apparently Acres is off to WA today for a medical tomorrow morning - I doubt it, Acres has been in WA all week apparently.

Anyway...big day tomorrow...

Yep could very well be later than 58 but irrespective, he will be a 5min trade. No worry on him not getting over the line.

Bruce for 32 seems likely, we are close with Dogs now in getting a deal done. I hope Acres takes the piss out of the medical so we can just give Freo next years 2nd, Jones for 32, and Acres stays.

Haha is this another failed bluff from the amazon pigmy? At least he’s learning from his puppet masters

3 shit picks to move up the draft.

No way will the trade just be 10 and Acres IMO

Swapping next year's 2nd doesnt work for them
Wait a sec. if they want to use a 2nd round future pick they choose if they use their own or the one Melbourne gave them right?

I think the deal was done, Port receive 12, 18 and change. We got Ryder Dougal and Pick 10. Pick 10 And a future 2nd to Freo for Hill. Reckon this was agreed upon. But on the bases we got a pick in the 30s for Steven. To get Jones, when we received pick 59 things changed. So now Pick 10 And Acres to Freo. Hill to Saints, Pick 59 for Butler, and a future 2nd for Jones. Only speculating of course.

Even if he does nothing else, King will get hands to the ball first on most occasions. That'll do nicely.

I reckon Ryder will do most of the centre bounce work and Roma more around the ground. I don't reckon Ryder's done, I think he was jaded in the environment at Port and it appears a fair few others were too.

Assuming we finish the Hill deal and get in Jones, we're cooking with gas.

Where would Bruce fit in unless there were injuries?

Geary - Howard - Webster
Savage - Carlisle - Wilkie
Billings - Ross - Hill
Gresham - Bruce - Clark
Membrey - King - Parker
Marshall - Steele - Dunstan
Ryder - Battle - Hannebery - Jones

I can't see it just being pick 32 for Bruce. We have been strong all along that that would be enough for him and we expect a fair trade to struck between the clubs. 32 for him is not fair value.

I think we have lost acres next years second and 10. What comes back is the question

I'm not sure why 10 and Acres wouldn't be enough. They've stuffed us around enough I reckon.

Geelong will give us 58 for Stuv and it's likely that goes to Richmond for Butler.

If Acres is part of tomorrow's deal then we deal 2020 2nd for Jones.

If Acres stays put, we give Fremantle the 2020 2nd. This is what I'm thinking.

Now to weigh up what is worth more - a future 2nd or Blake Acres.
