CaptainRisky I see you LOL'd and Disliked my post. Could you give your reasons why?
I just dont see that a bloke with his history is gong to get back this year , if it was another player without history id say maybe a chance but not hanners , poor old Hanners gets a tweek walking to the loo , He is going to struggle even when he comes back next year i think , Like some have said he maybe cooked

Let him Rehab for 5 weeks and when he is right give him another 2 weeks before he comes back.

What I am trying to say is don't rush him back. The sole focus should be just to get him ready for finals.
Hamstring tendon surgery has typically resulted in an 8-12 week stint on the sidelines.

This is Hanners we are talking about , no chance in hell he will play again this season which is a shame but lets try and get him right for next year

Yeah my post was before surgery was confirmed.

Look forward to seeing him in Round 1 2021 when he hasn't broken his foot after getting p1ssed and falling down some stairs ;)

Can't wait to see see Hanners and Paddy tearing it up again in 2021 o_Oo_O

Yeah Rooey missed 12 weeks with it back in 2010. One would think that Hanners would be ever longer.

And you are coming off no training so likely to pop another one if not careful.

id definitely pick up constable for the price. 31 disposals and a goal in your second game with Dangerfield, Selwood, Duncan ect to take disposals off you is pretty good. Was racking up 40+ in the vfl. Dunstan got 25+ once in his first year. Constable got 27 a few times as well. The real question is why isn’t he being picked at Geelong?

Constable is playing tonight isn’t he?

Reckon he might be that player that we talk about all year then we target someone out of the blue & Constable returns to the VFL Cats.

Slow and poor disposal?

The rehab processes have come a long way since then. Back then it was still novel. These days it’s a 8-10 week process give or take. Having said that they may decide to be conservative and put a line through him.

As a reference point, Freezer was in full training at 7 weeks and returned at 9 in 2018.

The only knock on Caldwell, is that he can sortve just bomb the ball rather than lower the eyes. Has cost them a few goals the past few weeks. Trying to do too much with it
sounds like a contradiction in terms. Doing too much would be trying to pin point passes in traffic and turning it over. This can be trained out though and if it wasn't an issue in his draft year then he's probably still just getting used to the pace of the game

What's our plan to replace Carlisle who will be 29 next season?

What about someone like Elliott Himmelberg from Adelaide?

Has played mostly forward and not getting a huge go at the Crows but is only 22yo and is 198cm tall, big body, pretty agile, can take a mark and could be worth a try down back and played there in his junior career

Contract finishes at the end of the year and would not cost much

Thoughts?
Oscar Clavarino is the key!

How many times did we try that in 2019 only for him to keep doing his hammies? He was never rushed back, ever. With plenty of precautions on his return.
It’s not the injury management, it’s the player.
It’s unfortunate, but his hamstrings just can’t handle AFL footy anymore.

I’d pass on Constable. He wasn’t interested in a trade involving Jack Steven last year but now he still can’t break into the team he wants a lifeline? Yeah, I don’t think so.
