I was a big believer that we needed to go after Williams, but ive watched the Giants last 5 games, and our last 5 games, and im happy we are not getting him now.
Im starting to think that the only think we are missing is a big bodied ball magnet. Could we be into Crouch, it would seem a smart idea.
But im also surprised Carlton aren't into Crouch more!!!!! surely he is exactly what they need!
Regardless, we would seem to need an accumulator and extractor that is around 25 to 26, we have the speed now, we have the class now. Williams is those two, but not that much better than anything we have...

Gee would be huge if true regarding Taranto & Hopper.

Bluescum are going down the rabbit hole paying Williams that much cashola.
He missed a significant number of games in 2018 and this year thru injury
Reckon they could be in a bit of trouble if they don't make finals again next year.
They also have quite a few highly rated youngsters that may soon demand a whole lot more and look elsewhere if their terms cannot be met
It's either that or the brown paper bag culture is alive and well at Princes Park

So Cats get Crouch & Higgins and still retain their other Grandpa players all likely on significant contracts ..... not sure how the Cats manage to attract gun players and keep player payments under the salary cap

Geelong have been saying for a long time their policy is to never overpay. Even Dangerfield isn’t on super high money compared to what he could be getting. They keep getting players because they’re always near the top of the ladder.

The Home and Away season is done and usually its time i return to discuss what went wrong and how we should correct it, feels good to finally be in a situation where we can just sit back relax and look at who to throw some cash at.
I like the idea of Ben Brown (Such a nice guy), stick him in the square and play Members more like how we played Kosi his tank in underrated.
No idea about any of the GWS boys don't know much about Caldwell, Hopper does his job but doesn't do much for me.
I like the idea of Mihocek great kick strong in the contest and hits the score board.
But lets hope there is another Butler bargain, my initial thought was "who is that" now he is one of my favorites (huge work rate does it for me).

Must admit it would be nice to be an AFL player at Geelong , cheaper housing , nice beaches close by , perfect for a young family and the way they get taxed an extra 50 - 75 k a year most likely make no difference to them when you balance things up
I texted sen one night after a saints loss while Finey was on and the bloke actually called me. We had a pretty decent chat after I confirmed I was indeed also a frustrated saints supporter. Was quite bizarre but I definitely do miss the old SEN personalities like Finey.
The players don’t live anywhere near the cheap housing in Geelong. They’re all at Barwon Heads or Torquay & it ain’t cheap there anymore.

If they were to let go a Taranto or hopper then it might be much harder to get Caldwell who has attributes that the other two don’t and comes a lot cheaper. A Taranto and Caldwell sound good though. Sets up the midfield long term.
