Foxfooty.com.au understands Crouch’s average salary of $600,000 per season across four years with a trigger for a fifth has seen the Crows land a later selection from league HQ.

I am sorry for doubting you Satan.
Fair offer.

Sends a message to the players on our list now you get what you are worth.

I was worried we'd load up on him whilst salary dumping which sends the wrong message to the group.

Adel attempts to bully us & the AFL through the media has come back to bite them. They pushed Crouch & tried to manipulate the system. They are cheats. Suck sh*t you utter campaigners.
Whats the bet this ends up at the PSD with a bunch of other players.

0% chance they match.

Muppets.

Agree. They don’t want him for the next 5 years.
Bad poker players. They'll huff and puff and let him go, knowing that they actually stuffed up by letting him look around when pick #2 was never a guarantee; they thought we’d be desperate and offer large coin.
Lethers said from the beginning we wanted him as a free agent and he never blinked.

Gresh will be back, Clark will play more mid, we‘ll keep Dunstan - we’ve got another year of development on our side.

He has said all year his preference was to stay. We asked him to test the waters and held off Tabling him and offer until we see what compo is. We now know. So we match and he stays.
Was on TV last week saying he needed a fresh start and had become stale at the crows
Gee you do have a lot of players that leave

'All part of the dance' as Satan is wont to say. Frickin' ballsy move by him and Gags, but very savvy given that Treloar has been given a firm shove out the door by the Pies. Great to have some competent operators on board.

I see that Purple devoted both his Adelaide and St Kilda columns to alleging collusion and draft tampering, gee goodness me he seems to have gotten it wrong - what a surprise.

Do you honestly think he would have actually said 'Yeah I'm desperate to leave this rabble" in the middle of the season?

AFC are stupid for setting hopes up high with their fanbase and talking about pick 2 ffs. They have to match to save face with their members.

Now their best case scenario is welcoming back a guy they marched towards fielding offers from rivals on the fanciful notion they'd get a totally unrealistic compensation for him. 2nd best scenario is an ~8 pick upgrade in a lotto draft if we trade picks, probably a disappointing outcome for them if pick 2 was their goal. 3rd best scenario is totally embarrassing themselves and letting their fans down by reeling back in the chest beating and not matching and taking the compo.

Why laughing. Band 3. Easy match for us. He now stays.
Highlights the rabble you are. It’s not a power play. It’s shambolic.

Your rebuild is going to take 4-5 years. He won’t be apart of your next crack at it. So what value does he actually give you?

None of your supporters that have come on here, have explained this fact to us.

So quite frankly keep him. He will always be the player he is now if he stays at Adelaide and you will be no better off.

But on a personal note, crouch spoke about coming to the Saints as a chance to get out of his comfort zone. I can’t think of a player who needs this opportunity more. So much Potential wasted currently and it will remain this way at the crows.

Guys & girls, let's be real about this.
Adelaide told him to look because they wanted overs. Pick 2.
He wants to stay there. And good luck to him.
They've probably treated him poorly, but this was all a scam to get pick 2.
And, he doesn't seem to care and would rather stay in Adelaide.
He doesn't want to be in Melbourne.
Our hope was the AFL would be sympathetic to their pleight.
Hopefully we move on.

Now what I really want to see is the actual terms. All we know is the cumulative amount (lets say $2.4 mill over 4 years) which is all the AFL considers for compensation - what if the actual offer is $1.2m year one and $400k a year for the next three years - then its band 3 and Adelaide can't afford to match the $'s in year 1.
I don’t believe they need to match the breakdown of the offer for each year. Just the average. So 600k over 4 years is what they are matching.

That's 2 good little wins this year this and not moving our final

Adelaide may as well go all in now. They have nothing to lose.
After shopping the bloke around I hope they match.
We walk away and they are left with a Joe Daniher scenario for 5 years.
How amateurish was their play?
Unbelievable incompetence. I’d be livid if I was a sane AFC member, current administration has rooted that club

They match to force a longer discussion in trade.

They don't plan to keep him, he'll go somewhere, likely to us, but they will position from power to push the issue as they believe they can get more and so for the trade period he'll be treated as contacted instead of "free" and they'll settle for something in the first round as "good enough".

I was, and remain decidedly "meh" about Crouch.

If they match, I hope we walk, and go get Treloar, while holding Collingfilth over a - ahem - barrel on paying a sizeable chunk of his contract.

If we decide to trade for Crouch, I'd be mildly surprised, but I trust these ice-veined soulless operators we have currently.
