Surely the most delusional post off the Crows board...

“Because they honestly believe the Crows will not match a 5-year deal, I started to get worried when I heard they pulled the Tiggers and went with a 5 year deal.
But I believe the Saints completely misread Kelly, and Olson in charge, not Chapman.
So The Crows will stick to band 1 or we match, and if the Saints want to trade you can bet Ried will make them pay.
I would be asking for 2 first rds, 2020 and 2021, no players.

It is really a bit embarrassing the way the wooden spooner supporters are carrying on like good sorts.
Deriding our club as small. Lol, the smallest worst run Vic club is still better than anything from that silly hick town.

As Doug Mulgray once called it Yass with ****ters ( was in the 80's don't @ me).
A metaphor from a far away era:

Adelaide is like that sad woman who has one failed relationship after another and soon enough all the other women on her street are gossiping about why she can't "keep a man".

St Kilda is more like the slightly overweight or plain looking woman who works hard to make her hubby happy and is a model if un-exotic wife.

Bonus one:

Essendon is the skanky shifty junkie woman who'll go through the pockets of any sucker she manages to seduce while he's sleeping and sell the contents for smack.

I'm gonna go ask that poster for their live and beating heart. Reckon he will say yes?

I congratulate the StKilda Football Club on standing their ground in the face of disgraceful pressure and not caving in to Adelaide's strong arm bullshit, like those weak Brisbane pricks.

It's easy to pick which one is the real footy club, and which one is the shallow unprincipled franchise.

I hope you get the bloke for nothing now.

Sounds fair. Get it done Gags then we can turn our attention to Hurley.

I raise you for this:

yeah, we'll accept a trade. brad crouch for hunter clark. if not, eat sh*t.

Some of the crows in denial is hilarious.

“Brad, his manager and St Kilda look like amateur hour here. Why the ruse, when there was absolutely no chance the offer was going to get close to band 1.”

“It's amateur hour at the saints ... pay him just a bit more and get him for free ... now their 1st rounder is at risk cause I sure as sh*t would not let him go for a 2nd when we all know at minimum their first wouldn't even get the deal done.”

I think crows fans fail to realise that we’ve offered what we believe he is worth, which Brad accepted. Why pay more than we want to. As Lethers said, if Adelaide match were prepared to walk away.

There is some truth to what that posters says to be honest. Whilst I understand the argument to only pay him what it is worth. In this instance, overpaying slightly and retaining the 1st draft pick should be a no brainer. Unfortunately this is when stupid trades like what we did with Hannerbury come back to bite. We bought him here on big coin and were also dumb enough to give him 5 years, creating cap issues for years to come. All this despite his body being cooked and not playing good footy for years now. He is borderline best 22 next year if Crouch comes. Not sure we can have 3 one paced mids all in the same team.

Anyway, the point is, Lethers was more than happy to pay massive overs in this scenario, despite zero competitive market pressure. Now we find ourselves in a situation where paying overs could have saved a first round pick, but we now choose to be responsible.

The club is moving in the right direction, so I don't want to be too critical. However, trades like Hannerbury can simply never happy again, there are always knock on effects.

I think I’m the only one not happy about this whole thing.

Free Agency is an absolute shit show of the AFL’s making.

Of course when we are looking to get someone for free this sort of stuff happens.

I don’t really care about getting one over on another club or revelling in Adelaide’s melts (as delusional as they are). I just saw in Crouch a player that will improve our list without spending a draft pick.

Just so typical (sigh).

All well and good except there would be no Brad Crouch nomination if Hanneberry hadn't come first. No one decent wanted anything to do with us before him.

Hanneberry was a good deal for us at that time.

We aren't lowballing Crouch because our cap is too tight to offer him a huge deal.

We offered what we thought was fair and Crouch accepted, because we are heading in the right direction and we don't have to overpay players like we did with Hannebery.

Some solid melts on the Adelaide board tbh.
Just hope they got Brad out in time 🤭

Hannebery wasn’t going to leave Sydney for a pay cut... we had to absorb it as a salary dump, it wasn’t like we lured him over with huge money that he wasn’t already contracted for.

Hannerbery will not get his 5th year and it would of been front loaded , meaning he has 2 years left and most probably on less than Billings for the next 2 years so it is no big deal , the thing is paying 800k for Crouch now when we just signed Steele on less would not be a good look when we have a All Australian on less than a blow in.

Early to talk about Ben King but my initial worry is if he was gettable the money thrown at him by every Victorian club will be huge.

With you fully, want to keep improving the list and to do that without using picks....

Damn.
