Damn was hoping my mail on WCE would be true. Perfect home for him IMO

They get things right for indigenous players
may still happen ... if any AFL club wantis him i reckon he would play on the moon to join them but i think if the AFL dream doesnt continue they may be staying in Victoria ... but again i guess in this situation money talks and with a young family you gotta go where you can earn

That was a really cool game back in the day. Love it.

Not too worried about Gallucci’s reported lack of dedication. As others have pointed out, Adelaide hasn’t been an amazing environment of late, and he’s still very young so there’s no reason why he couldn’t turn it around.

He has attributes that match our side, but whether he can get going properly post-rehab for this Achilles rupture is another question altogether. It’s bit a great injury for any athlete, let alone an explosive athlete like him.

Worth a punt as a DFA, for sure, IMO.

I read somewhere some big knocks on Gallucci's attitude and preparation. Can't remember where
Just remembering him from his draft year .A bit of a down hill skier, didn’t really like getting his own ball, reminded me of a poor mans Mark Mercuri.‘I am sure one of you campaigners will dig up his stats and prove me wrong though.

TL;DR of List changes

Primary List Sizes go from 38-40 to 36-38
Cat A Rookie List Sizes unchanged (0-6)
Cat B Rookie List Sizes go from 0-3 to 0-2
Total List Sizes go from 38-47 (44 without Cat B, no minimum rookies) to 37-44 (42 without Cat B, 1 rookie minimum if you have 36 on the list)

9% reduction to TPP, most of which is made up of a universal 3.5% cut to players who were contracted before the freeze, 2 reduced primary list positions and a reduction in draftee wage.

When was that , back in the 80's ?
Yes maybe 1984 but have to look it up.
‘Reading between the lines, and not knowing to be honest, I think it was a country lad suffering a bit of self belief,as is possible.
The Frawley’s were all gun runners, he may have been smaller than Danny and a midfielder, but again this is testing me ,he would have been a star in the team we had at the time.😀

So draftee wages go down even lower, while contracted players on huge deals go down only 3.5%. That is a joke.

looks like paddy dangerfield got his way

anyone know how many list spots we have free for DFAs and the Draft?
Could be completely wrong but I think we have 37 on the Senior list, add Wilkie (upgrade) plus pick 21 and Frawley as a DFA gets us to 40. So without any other DFAs or picks we need to lose two more from the Senior list.

The AFLPA , rather than helping their rank and file have constantly improved the lot of those who were always going to be doing just fine.

Fiora with a moustache. :moustache:

We had 45 players this season (40 Senior Listed, 5 Rookie Listed [Wilkie, Bell, Langlands, Mayo, Alabakis]), with Alabakis being a Cat B rookie.

Based on comings and goings over trade period:
  • Lost 6 Seniors (Hind, Phillips, Parker, Brown, Abbott, Austin)
  • Lost 3 Cat A Rookies (Bells, Langlands, Mayo)
Gives us 34 Senior Listed and 2 Rookie Listed
  • Gained 3 Seniors (Crouch, Higgins, McKernan)
Gives us 37 Senior Listed and 2 Rookie Listed as it currently stands.

Given this, I predict:
  • Wilkie remaining on the Rookie List for one more year
and, either:
  1. Sign Frawley as a DFA, and then cut one further Senior Listed player for each pick we want to use (minimum one)
  2. Draft Frawley as a rookie, take one pick at the Draft (Pick 21), and then cut one further Senior Listed player for each additional pick we want to use.
  3. Don't draft Frawley at all, take one pick at the Draft (Pick 21), and then cut one further Senior Listed player for each additional pick we want to use.
Given all of this, who is the (at least one) unlucky player that we are going to delist? Savage? Lonie?

Savage & Lonie, may well walk, to bigger contracts & more security. And even though Joyce is contracted for another year. We could still cut him, like we did the aboriginal lad last year. Forgotten his name already haha.

With both Clavarino and Marsh still uncontracted, they both might be good options to move to the rookie list since we have room on there.
