He was probably playing more forward this year. Couldn't kick for sh*t except when he booted 3 for sh*t between the posts.

Right. But pretty clear to me that Phillips is never going to make it and probably same for Parker. (Though I would have given him another year to be sure.)

The rest are a combination of "developing", "solid depth" and "maybe's" and "times up.

Developing covers the first couple of years, then maybes and if you aren't at least in the solid depth column after 3 years then your times up.

Phillips had more than enough time, Parker is a victim of circumstances, hasn't really had a real chance and normally would be still in the "maybe" group for another year.

Lonie, Savage, DMac, Dunstan all fall in the "solid depth" column but contract $'s are a serious consideration.

The likes of Bytel, Byrnes, Connoly all on the "developing" list.

You do realise that kicking a goal or two does not make you a food kick.

I wish him all the best appears to be a hard worker, but I have seen enough of him at both VFL and AFL to know he is poor by foot.

Plenty of good field kicks can’t kick a goal and plenty of poor files kicks can kick a goal.

i suspect dunstan and dmac are being saved because of a legacy contract. roberton would be gone if not for the contract.

If we offered him a 1 year contract, surely at only 29y.o, he goes on. Quite an accomplished player at North, who'd bring more experience & depth to our group. With how well we went this year, & reasonably quiet with injuries. Adding guys like Frawley, Gowers, MacMillan, McKernan, O.McDonald, Trengrove, on 1 year contracts at minimal cost, would give our squad strong depth. And this draft is compromised, so don't see us missing out on any good kids, especially as we need KP depth mainly.

agree, given we have blokes who can play on the wing if something happens to Hill or Hanners or Battle, i reckon we can afford to move that piece on and look to bringing in more kids

In the last two off-seasons, we've seen Newnes, Acres, Bruce, Steven, Hind & possibly now Savage – all of whom (except Hind) were walk-up starts for us at some point – get let go for unders. It's crazy to look at that list and know that none of them would be in our best 22 next year. We're now a side that gets everyone who nominates us in the club as well as taking care of our own when it's time to move them on.

The Richo/Ameet/Peleican era players are leaving in droves.

He is a streaky player. Has his moments but not consistent enough. A great fella though so wish him nothing but the best. Some of the work he does in the off season in asia and other areas is inspiring. Hope he goes around again.

I didn’t really expect Phillips to play this year at all TBH and not surprised he was delisted. He seems a good guy tho and hopefully he gets a chance elsewhere but I would be surprised.

Even with the pony tail, he looked more like one of the Lannister or Stark foot soldier extras that would get killed early in a battle, not a main character.

Good luck to him though.

Hey saints fans just wondering if your disappointed in Matt Parker being delisted? Dose he have off field issues? watching his highlights I thought he was s gun, hope Dee’s look at him if no other issues.

Unfortunately just had other players ahead of him . Wish him all the best though . Disappointed for him and I hope someone picks him up , he’s great to watch that’s for sure .

He hardly got a game at the Dogs and they basically only had young English learning the game over the past couple of years so he can’t be much good .
