Fair enough, but what is likely the better way for us to go re go to the draft with that pick or get someone like dawson or lipinskiJosh Goater might be in that range..
I'm going youth and midfielders with a point of difference and some grunt.Fair enough, but what is likely the better way for us to go re go to the draft with that pick or get someone like dawson or lipinski
All most likely, but we probably won't win many more games either. And with a new Covid wave happening, the games at the back end of the season could be anywhere.we arent finishing below north or the suns.. seriously cannot see the suns winning another game this season.
we should beat north at AO.. and the hawks aswell.
That's not a particularly flattering photo of Finn compared to this:For a point of difference perhaps Finn Callaghan though he is a Vic Metro lad.
I would always be hitting into the draft. But that’s just me.A question. With our 2nd round pick..would you think it better to trade for say lipinski or dawson or try to go for say an Arlo draper if he is around that mark. What is a better approach for where we are at
I'm assuming Horne would be a perfect fit as well if available. True?I'm going youth and midfielders with a point of difference and some grunt.
I’m sorry I didn’t answer very well. What I should have said, and I’m happy to be corrected, is that the heart and soul of flag teams are built from the draft.A question. All good as i read your first comment they way you meant it and i think that is a sound approach. I just hope we can nail the 3 good picks we haveI’m sorry I didn’t answer very well. Sure you can trade in bits and pieces - but the draft is your foundation. I don’t think the crows are yet in that position of needing bits and pieces.
If Hawthorn finish below us their is no way Clarkson is letting a left footed mid with foot skills escape his grasp. So we're all praying to tank, to get #2 while Horne still goes #1? What's the sense in that? Obviously all our hope is on Roberts now with #1 out of the question. No way we're drafting a Vic ******* at #2 who will almost certainly leave. If we had #2, we might as well trade down to #5-6-7 and get Roberts next best SAussie.....or, just do what we're doing, knock off some teams, get some wins in the kids and still take Roberts at #5-6-7.
That's why knowing NM have #1 then who cares if we go #2-7, we're still circling the same bloke, Roberts.
It's very possible that North might bid on Daicos at pick 1, then Darcy at pick 2. Would be a bit embarrassing for the AFL if it went that way, but so long as the pick 1 goes to a Victorian team, they won't change the rules.
You do have to wonder how the Dogs will match when they only have pick 17 and then 72. We might be able to offer one or two of our second round picks to assist them...
Meanwhile North could easily go for Sonsie. Vic Metro, elite mid. Would be a good fit. Just happens to leave Horne for us if we do the right thing over the next few weeks..
Horne is the perfect fit for anyone.I'm assuming Horne would be a perfect fit as well if available. True?
I wonder if, with Horne not available, we might be willing to trade down a little. Could trade pick 4 down to 6 or 7 and then our second pick up. Might get two high quality mids.
That's what I thought. And is he wasn't the right fit, then you change the rest of midfield so they fit around him!Horne is the perfect fit for anyone.
Bit harsh not to include Jake Lever …… however the Crows history with many other Calder Cannons draftees has been excellent.Notable veteran Vic Metro crows players:
Rory Sloane
Daniel Talia
Tom Lynch
Notable Vic metro players who have chosen to head home:
Jack Gunston
?
Is our fear of vic metro rational?
If the North game ends up being away from AO, then we could easily drop that game as well.We moved a little bit closer to our next flag today.
Losing to teams currently 1,2,3,4,7 and 11 is very achievable and hardly tanking. I expect that we will beat the Kangas but the key to pick three is a loss to the Hawks. Surely Clarko can stitch us up one more time?
Knew I was forgetting someone.Bit harsh not to include Jake Lever …… however the Crows history with many other Calder Cannons draftees has been excellent.

Why would it affect us more than others below us ??I am hoping so much that we go into hubs.
Pick 2 or 3 this year to compliment our pick 1 last year..
That's a nice base for a resurgence
DouglasDavid Mackay was Vic Metro and we haven't been able to get rid of him
Because it's probably gonna be in Vic and the teams below us are Vic teams (except GC).Why would it affect us more than others below us ??
Don't think it'll matter.Because it's probably gonna be in Vic and the teams below us are Vic teams (except GC).
