Just bundle up Tarrant and 39 for their 45 and be done with it.

6 Pick downgrade and get it done early so we can concentrate of any other potential deals.

They most likely won’t use 45 if they are brining in Tarrant.

Im all for screwing them over, but you have to pick your battles and a small downgrade where Richmond keep the Chol compo and get Tarrant and we get CCJ should keep everyone happy.

19+20+2022 1st for pick 2?

We need to clarify the rules on trading future picks. If it's true we can't trade a first rounder if we trade from another future round then we can't trade for pick 2. We might be able to get around it by trading back into next years first round.

Here's an old tweet from PK.

If a club brings another future pick in, it can trade them.

This whole b..Shiite about us accomodating Richmond in good faith because the tables will turn one day.

It is unlikely Tigers will slip so far down the ladder in the next 10 years that they could threaten the PSD scenario on us.

All the stars would have to align. Player we don’t rate wants to leave and picks Richmond above 16 other clubs.

We need to do what’s best for us right now so that in the next 3-10 years we are in a premiership window.

Walk him to the PSD.

What I posted on Wednesday. Looks like Brady has got in front of the que.

If it is a salary dump, it will be for a future 3rd and it's not even a bad trade for them. They have a cap problem and to many players signed to bring in anymore. Saying they are run very poorly would be understanding it.

Last year GC did this trade. Pick 27 last year for 55+ this year. And this is not one of their worst 2 trades they have made over the last 4 years.

The AFL keeps giving to them and they throw picks away because they have to many and other concessions. GC have no idea what they are doing. The AFL should shut the joint down.

We should try to jump the que to be the next team to mug them. Brady has already done it.

Yes I forgot about the future pick to GC.
We wouldnt be able to trade our future 1st if we already traded our future 2nd/3rd to GC.
Pretty sure anyway.

GOLD Coast and North Melbourne are exploring an innovative trade that would see the Roos acquire the Suns' pick No.19 plus half-forward Darcy Macpherson.

AFL.com.au understands both clubs have been discussing a 'salary dump' which would see the Roos take on the bulk of Macpherson's wage while also offering greater playing opportunities.

The Suns this week received confirmation they would be granted access to pick 19 in this year's NAB AFL Draft and quickly turned to conversations around on-trading the selection.

North Melbourne's salary cap sits among the most flushed for room in the competition, which would allow it to take on Macpherson's wage.

Should the move progress, it would see the Roos armed with three picks inside 20 – No.1, 19 and 20 – at this year's draft.

As part of the transaction, the Roos would likely need to hand over a future selection to the Suns – expected to be a second or third-round pick.

The Suns have been informing clubs they are keen to trade into next year's draft, and by trading out pick 19 this year, would be expected to bolster their stocks for 2022.

A move for Macpherson to Arden Street would also alleviate pressures on the Suns' salary cap, given they have been forced into paying above market rate for re-signing young players in recent years.

They have also informed contracted midfielder Will Brodie they are happy to facilitate a move for him to another club for greater playing opportunities.

Macpherson, 23, last signed a contract extension with the Suns in the middle of a breakout 2019 campaign until the end of 2022.

The son of former Western Bulldog Steve, Macpherson finished third in the Suns' best and fairest in 2019 but has been limited to 23 games in the past two seasons.

Should Macpherson arrive at the Roos he would provide coach David Noble with extra depth, which includes Tarryn Thomas, Jack Mahony, Jaidyn Stephenson, Charlie Lazzaro, Kayne Turner, Curtis Taylor, Phoenix Spicer and Eddie Ford. – Mitch Cleary

Why isn't this just 38 + Taz for CCJ? It could get done day 1 and we start trade period as a destination club with pick 1 in both drafts.
If we trade Taz we potenbtially lose a pick around 38 so we may end up losing picks 38, 39 and Taz for CCJ.

We don't have to trade him at all. We could trade 38 for CCJ, let Taz walk and then the Tiges would lose whatever FA compo they would get for Chol but we'd keep Taz compo. (That is assuming there is any Taz compo of course.)

Geeze, that really is selling the farm. We are quite possibly going to be dead last or 17th again next year, so potentially giving up 2022 #1/#2 plus two 2021 end of first round draft picks for 2021 #2. Callaghan might be special, but is he THAT special?
Not when you look at the big picture.

That particular deal would be 2022 1st, 2022 3rd and 20 for Macpherson and 2.

I dare say this will look similar to the Sleevo trade where we took his wage and extended it.

The article says we'll take most of this wage so we may take 400k next year and put an extra year or two of 400k or similar on top. He still needs to be convinced to move and there shouldn't be any real foreseeable dramas keeping MacPherson for three years.
