Wonder if this gets Ben King out of the Suns.

Saints
Give there future first rounder to Suns
Gets Ben King

Melbourne
Gets Pick 5
Gives Wiederman and Jones (or equivalent) to Suns

Gold Coast
Gives Ben King to Saints
Gets future first
Weiderman
Nathan Jones

Looks like a win win to me but getting King is a priority in my humble opinion as it allows Battle to play CHB where he was killing it last year.

Weiderman and Jones? Whilst losing their best forward?
They’d laugh you out of the room.

A journalist was mentioning Ross and Gold Coast which makes sense to me. We could send Ross to Gold Coast to try and sweeten the deal.

It will interesting what GWS does this year if Kelly stay's , because all team had a reduction in salary cap and the only teams that did not differ payment' were WCE and St Kilda.
They have as we know Kelly , Hopper and Tom Green not signed yet but Taranto's contract finishes in 2022 and there were rumors last year he was wanting out.
We know we have Salary space for another topline player and if we either lose Billings or Dunstan we might be able to nab a very good midfielder to replace any loss.
Hearing Port keen on Dunstan.

While I’m firmly in the ‘Get Ben King’ camp, I think most of us have been severely underestimating just how hard it will be to get him.

The guy is a generational talent. In a few years he could be the best key forward in the game. He’ll be THE face of any club he plays for. The idea that offering one first round draft pick plus an aging midfielder will be enough to get him is just so, so unrealistic.

Imagine what it would take for us to give up Max. It’d have to be a ‘Godfather’ offer. Numerous first round draft picks, or a suite of picks and players.

That’s what we’re talking about to get our hands on Ben. So the question is, just how much are we willing to sacrifice?

If he’s so good and much more affordable shouldn’t we get him?

Might already be broken. We probably aren't the right side to rebuild his fragile confidence. He needs a good system. Pies will probably get him anyway.

I reckon it's our first pick and Billings compo* to the draft then some NGA boys.

Seb compo and our 3rd round pick to trade with for a value KPD.

There's no need for anything spectacular this year, just the obvious and no overreaching or daft contracts handed out.

This year has served it's purpose by well defining who we keep, trade or cut and come 2022 we'll be free of barnicals and away we go.

Do you think GWS would be interested in Billings?
They have two ten picks this year (currently #4 and #7).
Would they prefer mature talent, or stick with youth?

They have no cap space unless Kelly goes. Maybe if we paid half his wage. That would mean they don't have to bid him up through FA.

Who would want Ross? Very similar player except Jones has expirence and could transition to a midfield coach after a year or two.
Well I’m not sure, but Ross has nothing to do with this?
Weideman is into his sixth season and has gone backwards. Not hard enough at the contest. I’m sure Melbourne would be happy to off load him.
And jones should’ve retired a year or two ago. The game has defiantly gone past him sadly. And it’s not a knock on him because he was a great player in his prime.

They desperately need seasoned veterans to help mold their young midfield, plus a young forward that could use a sea change.

Seasoned? Pretty sure this would be Jones’ last one.
Weideman possibly.
Besides that, it was that they were mentioned in an exchange together with a future first for Ben King. Suns would never do that - nor should they.

Would be plenty of “slightly less seasoned” players available for them.

Luke Parker?

would you take their first for Billings
And a second for Dunstan ??
It looks like Billings could be gone , he was at one time looked upon as one of the teams leaders now he is not even in the the leadership group.
Usually teams like to sign up there good players before the season starts and for Billings not to already sign means he could be wanting far more than what we are willing to offer.
He is not the star we wanted but he doesn't miss too many games and usually gives a good effort.
