"You can never have enough mids"

"We must draft mids, mids, mids!"

"All the best teams have 12 blokes who can run through the middle"

Nek Minnit

Despite the fact we're likely to lose 2 of our current mids:

"Don't draft player X (mid from opposition club) because he will take games off player Y (another current St Kilda mid)"

You can't have too many mids.....except when they're shit. ;)

Yeah, I think Steele may have been 21 (was maybe drafted as an overager?), but I get your point.
I guess I was more trying to make the point that being a non-best 22 midfielder, or even a non-best 22 player for that matter, doesnt necessarily mean that that player couldn't become better. More so when you're at a club that is stacked in that area.
I should probably also say that I have no idea about Lipinski or what kind of player he's like
Edit: i might be thinking of Dunkley with the over ager thing

I'm with you I will trust the club on it. If they think he's got another gear they've obviously put some time into him. O'Shaunessey or what ever his name is is supposed to be a very good statistics analyst who can money ball off stats. Howard was supposed to be the second best spoiler and interceptor behind Harris Andrews and while I had **** all idea who Howard was when we got him he's actually been a good get.

I'm guessing we've seen something in him and so far they've not got much wrong lately. Might as well trust them. I've seen Lipinski and thought he looked okay but no star but we do need some depth and at a minimum he's that. If he steps up it's a bonus.

Port keen on Billings

Jesus, I reckon there could be some careful what you wish for if we lose all three this year. There won't be any safety net and the club has been talking finals. It will be a busy trade period for Gags.

I’m expecting a lot of content from you lot, gotta keep my St.Kilda drip feed going and the hype train rolling why I wait through an endless summer. Was only a spectator last off-season but let’s gets this show on the road…

Do you reckon we’ll do a lot more trading for picks this off-season? Seems like the right time to get in the draft.

Also like the idea of picking up some outer/younger/promising players such as Mclean or even Ladhams (if that’s true), to fill a depth role or tandem with Marshall. That being said, both don’t seem like tap rucks, which won’t fill the Ryder void.
Just make sure you have you're BS filter turned on as it will be flying thick and fast , its already started

In the great track watching lingo...

prefer others.
Who though?
From the names so far only Parker would interest me more than lipinski.
Cerra of course but I highly doubt he comes to st. Kilda when the other vic clubs will be offering under the table cash, real estate investments, jobs for dad etc.

Suppose they will give him a contract instead of giving him away for nothing, but he most probably wants to see if he can get more game time somewhere else.
thats what he tried last year, and noone offered him more.

The longer the Billings situation drags on, the more inclined I think he is to leave. If he's not going to accept a four year deal from us today, then it tells me he's holding out for a club in the finals to finish up before making an announcement.
there is a lot of time to go. this is the 1st week post the season and not finals. his manager would be checking all teams and especially those teams in the 8.

Dogs drafted Weightman who's better already.
Absolutely he is, miles better. But who is their back up? We have plenty types to fill that role, do they?

Conversely we have little midfield depth and they have way too much. It would suit both list needs for little cost to either Team.

In two minds here.
I‘d prefer we lose Ross, because I find him pretty meh and I rate Billings a lot more.
But with Billings we stand to get a better return and I want some elite draft picks.
Bitt iffy about losing both of them and Dunstan.

Think your Twin Towers reference might have been a bit too cerebral for everyone.….

I don't think that story ended too well from memory, maybe not an ideal cryptic reference.
