Not the worst thing i've heard from Goddard.
Not sure that all of Marshall, King, Membrey and Sharman doesn't make us too tall.
( When Membrey plays deep he always seems to want to stop and take the kick, full forward style ).

I'll be amazed and pleased if Bytel and Byrnes play consistently enough to get a game every week.
When Hannebery is injured we may see Clark go into the middle ( for Webster in ) , or we can bring Ross in.

If we assume that Hannebery will be injured most weeks we don't have much experienced midfield depth, and it may also be that they want Gresham to play forward.
If we get a ready to go kid(s) in the Draft they may well get game time.
Clark should be playing midfield with or without Hannerbery in the side.

I use to be pretty active on BF a few years ago have unfortunately dropped off.

However, was really hoping if anyone has an update on what we are doing. Is Xerri the only deal we may do today or is there any speculation of anything else?

It was sold out for the cats game yet they managed 800 more for a rugby union game
Yes I understand that but a sell out is linked to how many tickets are on sale

more room to sit, like they can sit on the actual ground
Nah , they have never used the seats that were built to slide out and they are not letting people sit on the ground , too many OH&S issues

If Hannebery is going to be injured every other week then he should make way for a younger player. He would have to be getting slower, legs weaker and stamina dropping after his ongoing time out of the game due to his injuries. He is a midfielder so needs to be at the top of his game. 30 games and 4 goals in his last 4 years dont cut it. Gresham will be coming back from an injury as well. Clark will be the man.

what was said?

he said when Beams was showing interest in leaving brisbane for collingwood, the recruitment team at collingwood advised collingwood that they should not trade for him.

their sources in brisbane had given them enough information to be concerned that it would not go well. he alluded to off-field issues.

it appears those at collingwood ignored the recruitment team and went ahead regardless.

Wasn't Rendell at Collingwood at the time?

BAsically throwing himself under the bus as well.

Not sure we will even get that done with North holding firm on wanting a future 2nd.

The only other move I can see us making is dropping back from 9 for a couple of later picks in the teens on draft night. Getting a pick this year from Brisbane, Richmond, GWS or Port along with their first pick next year would be a huge win.

Trade for Xerri close. Both clubs working with the AFL to see if the move can be used in promoting the StK vs North as a marquee game.

he was but he was part of the recruitment team that advised collingwood NOT to trade for beams due to off-field issues

i think he's saying the list manager and list committee ignored them

After hearing him on TR, if he said good morning to me, I would put my pajama's on and go to bed.

The guy is reliable as toot toot Nixon

Maybe they didn't have enough beer :drunk:
As we all seem to be reminiscing in the absence of any actual trading.

1984

Round 1 at Moorabbin and a young Plugger finally bursts on the scene after a few glimpses in his debut season. Kicks 7.4 (a young Paul Salmon kicks 7.6 and the Bombers get home fairly comfortable).

Round 2 and it's a glorious April Saturday as we head off to Victoria Park to watch the young full forward (and to a lesser extent his teammates). The place is packed (records indicate it was 26,647 but it felt like more than that).

At the end of the first quarter I was parched and I finally managed to push my way through to the little beer kiosk on the top of the terrace behind the goals (blokes standing on top of the terrace with their backs to me were thoughtfully showering their fellow patrons below with used beer).

And as I was served I managed to grab a can of the only beer that was left - an unrefrigerated Carlton Diet Ale 🤮

I'll be disappointed if we pay any more than the Crows future 4th that we got last week for Xerri.

This is a guy who was drafted in the 70's, and has shown nothing to suggest he's any better than that.

The Roo's can ask any price they like, but asking for a 2nd rounder is the equivalent of us asking for a Top 10 pick for Ben Long.

Lol TR talking about the outstanding trades to wrap their shift and didn't even bother to mention Xerri :D :D :D

Real Logan Austin (or Austin Logan can never remember the order) excitement vibes about this trade period.
