How did we not ask the question on this

Will Brodie is from Vic.
This would also free us up for our academy kids plus overs.

This is now a done deal. Gold Coast has traded pick 19, 61, 69 and Will Brodie to Fremantle for the Dockers' future second and fourth round picks.
He is apparently on 600k this year and isn't the sort of player we need. Don't want to pay a fringe player that much even if we get him to agree to a pay cut

Jeff Kennett has told Members that they (Hawks) will be looking at trading out a big name player this Trade Period
Channel 10 Sport

Why’s Jeff talking to Tim and who’s this big name they’re trading to St Kilda to get him? #itshappening

From the word penned by Kylie Minogue “I could be so lucky!”

From SEN:
AFL player manager Tim Hazell has issued updates on a host of unsigned players who are clients of Vivid Sport Management:

Jack Lonie (St Kilda)
“It’s a bit of a frustrating one. Over the last couple of years this has sort of happened.
“He played 11 games this year. He’s a great player and deserves another chance.
“At the moment, St Kilda is waiting to see what happens. We’ve been in consistent dialogue with James (Gallagher) and the footy club.

“There’s been some interest out there from other clubs.

“I’m not too sure where it’s going to go, but we’re having some healthy conversations and working through it as we speak.”

No doubt frustrating for Lonie for this to happen on a yearly basis. But at the end of the day, he is scrapping for his career from each year to the next and barely holding on. If he wants some longer term security, be it from us or any other club, he'll have to earn it. And if it's too hard to live like this, he could call it quits. I wouldn't begrudge him.
