I was continuously told to wait as we were setting ourselves up to make moves on Draft Night - well no moves were made and now its wait until the real story comes out how we offered the sun, stars and moon but nobody wanted any light

There are a group of fans who will continue to swallow any BS the club puts out because thinking they (the club) have no idea is counter to how they feel they should support the club
Indeed... some believe everything they hear, rather than actually interpreting what is actually occurring.

Clubs deliberately send out wrong messaging or rumours prior to the draft to try & confuse opposition clubs as to their thinking. Mostly doesn't work, but sometimes it dies like Sydney catching out GWS last night.

Damn man, korea weren't even allowed to take their corner kick. and then the korea coach got a red card. I didn't even know the coach could get a red card lol.
Is this the 1st time you have watched a World Cup?

Here’s the thing:

This is a heavily sold draft. Suddenly it’s massively over corrected in an inexplicable gold rush with crazy offers being made

None of which were accepted though

There’s a simpler explanation.

Now it’s been represented to me that we made an offer of F1 and F2NM to Essendon for 4 & Phillipou

I can run with that. It surprises me that it would be refused but whatever, if we finally reached consensus and satisfied ourselves he was worth it. OK no problem

You can certainly convince me that Dodoro never had any interest in Phillipou or trading and was trying to drum up a crazy market, again, OK no problem whatever.

What I am struggling with is the idea that we wouldn’t have made the same offer to STK - after all it’s the player not the pick we are after.

And I can’t believe in a month of Sundays that STK didn’t bite our hands off.
That’s so grotesquely over value, I can’t see how it was refused

the only thing that makes sense is STK hesitating and thinking of Adelaide wants him so bad he must be amazing and we can’t let him go if that Elite Formula one rocket ship of a recruiting team rates him highly - oh wait! 😂😂
Yes, the only key thing is what we offered to St Kilda, if anything.
The Twomey draft was out there and the Crows would have been well aware that he was likely to slip to 10. I can't believe that they weren't well prepared to consider making an offer at this point.
It will be of interest to hear what they did. If there was no offer, clearly we were not interested in the Poo. If we made a silly offer and it was refused, then so be it.

That is the key point. Ain't no way St.Kilda is passing that up.

Why would they take it? Assuming, as most on here do, that Phillipou is a quality talent why would they give him up for say pick 8 and 22 next year?
Saints - like us - need all the talent they can get, particularly in the midfield. Their midfield is no better than ours

Of course they are passing it up. A year with a player that is almost too young to even qualify for this years draft - why would they wait?

I still can't believe how much Sydney ****ed over GWS!! They looked absolutely shell shocked that they were shafted not once but twice, every time they crossed to their war room they looked gutted, no life or energy. Adam Kingsley even looked like throwing in the towel.

I don't see why it's so hard to understand why Essendon would pass on an unknown offer (F1 and F2) for pick 4.

If I'm Essendon I'm locking the pick in.

If the Crows had pick 4 today with an SA kid and a VIC kid they liked on the board, it would be an extremely tough decision to trade that out for 2 unknown quantities 12 months from now.

I feel like those picks are likely pick 9 + 22 (after priority picks/matching). Why on Earth would Essendon want to trade pick 4 for pick 9 and 22 when they could put a year into a kid they like?

Agree though on Saints being more realistic but it's still a tough call to go back to the board and it's supporters with a handfull of 2023 magic bean picks when you could have kept the 2022 cow. They look like heros right now with pick 4 guy dropping to them at 10.
In a pretty weak draft for depth past pick 11 or 12 it was always going to be hard to get up the order

There are some really good players in this top 11 or 12 , as good as any draft … will be interesting to watch them over next 2-3 seasons

Night 2 of draft - not so much

Kept my Kayo subscription going post season for Draft Nights ......what a waste, what a terrible presentation by FoxFooty

The retired Shifter, the ultra syrupy Mick Ablett, his sickening high pitched voice praising every player, in an attempt to be a Sheehan clone ....and Montagna, who I don't mind, but clearly was clueless on all the players ......it was a DEAD PRESENTATION !!

OK ...so subscription gets turned off today, and will follow the AFL / SEN tonight

We offered our 2023 1st and the Roos 2023 2nd we hold, it wasn't enough to interest Dodoro. If you don't want to believe it fine. Every chance it will come out at some point.

Dodoro knocked back 3 x Firsts - of course it wasnt enough

Hell it wasnt even good enough for Gold Coast 2 months ago

I didnt watch the draft. in what way did Syd do over GWS? in what way?

Spewing i miss the rest of the draft tonight, will be at the Guns N Roses gig. so what do we all think, do we pass with our pick 69 or "take a punt" on a big bodied mid ?

You would assume it's better than pick 8. Most likely around pick 5 and pick 19-22. Thats a damn good deal for Pick 10.

Forced them to use their pick for their Academy player Rowston which left them without the pick to take their targeted player Konstanty who Sydney then swopped on. GWS wanted to to take Konstanty before the expected bid for Rowston came in.

oh wow haha well played, Sydney

If we take a player it will be earlier using one of our ,2023 2nd rounders we'll trade into this year.

3 much later 1st rounders against a likely much earlier 1st round pick and a likely very early 2nd rounder.

What, Mostyn is Kristoff?

Looks that way. Kristof was last seen in the Rankine trade thread on main board banging on about how we’d never pay pick 5 and if we did it would be gross incompetence from all involved. Same day as his last post, Mostyn is created and we see the clear implication that pick 5 has magically severely diminished in value. GK picked it up when Mostyn said he’d met Jenny at a qld supporters group function.

We’d been waiting for him to reappear having finally criticised a club employee. I had the screenshots ready to go. Turns out he had to create a new identity and conspiracy to avoid having done it in the first place.
