Up to tonight you thought Murph could swing back there

How is McHenry a "Wow" and Murph a feasible suggestion? Mutineer?

If I had to select McHenry, Back pocket using his tackling prowess and elite pressure game it is.

Edit:- and that's about the only position on the field I think his game is suited to. He basically plays the same role on the forward flank now.

Excuse the interruption, from your boards perspective, why do you think the club decided not to nominate Isaac Keeler?

Was it only because they thought he would go earlier than 40 or are there other reasons (attitude, fitness, behavioral etc)? On the surface he looks like a very talented player.

Thanks, oh and you can't have Phillipou :p
Lacks competitiveness, aggression and work rate.....if you can fix that he has plenty of talent, obviousle Adelaide and other clubs weren't confident they could. Raw talent he has in spades.

So… Nicksy taking Dawso to the Michalanney household… is that an indication that Jordan is our next captain? Maybe?

Pretty disappointing draft night to be honest, there really seems to be no cohesion between Haggis and Reid. We obviously identified a need a way out, traded out of the draft and then tried to trade back in but couldn't and now have a couple of pick 50 mids to hang our hat on. Not saying that won't produce a half decent player but when we are going back 14 or so years to make a case for picking one that late, does not fill me full of hope.

And once again, we don't address our rucks which is baffling.

We didn't address our rucks because Reilly O'Brien is contracted to the end of 2025

Lack of competitiveness and aggression the main knocks.

I also think the fact that we could only take Michalanney plus 1-2 other players came into it. I don’t think we were ever looking to bring in a tall forward with one of those other picks. Mids, a ruck and defenders are greater needs for us.

It’s also entirely possible that we had a talent order of say, 50 guys and he just wasn’t rated inside that 50 at all, regardless of list needs / available list spots.

Well he is under Lyon, if he doesn't work he will be out in 6 months. His highlight reel looks very good, thought he must be a bit slack.
Pick 45 I suppose he is worth a punt, sounds like a real boom/bust chance.

Cheers.

Nope I've seen plenty of Neddy live up close and centre, he's an outside mid/wing for mine.

Probably a gun in those spots at Junior level. Seen plenty of little taccas cut up up Juniors also.

AFL; he offers little more than pressure, effort and the occasional dink up 30m stab. No way is he a Wingman and too small, lacking of any other great quality to play midfield.

Yeah - going in with a pick in the 40s and ending up with a first rounder and a couple of good young prospects. Hopeless.

A lot on this board seem more worried about what Power did … scared they got someone we missed. Living rent free.

Either that or they are disappointed we didn’t trade away 2023 because of a 2 minute highlight video they saw.

bond is a shocking pick we just didnt need him
You are in such a cheerful mood tonight.

There is usually at least one poster having a dummy spit on draft night lol.

Murphy's actually proven he can play there, went well there when he was on our SANFL list the year before he got drafted

Reckon he's more cool-headed than Ned too, which works well for a defender

Ok that's fair and logical, but has Ned every been given a shot at the spot to compare?
