But then you get a Fergus Watts.

Did nothing till his last year - had a strong year and rose high.

Busted

It's why most draft picks now have a solid form line from u16s
Not quite true. Watts was a KPF who requested a trade to Saints then had a bad break to his leg that required mega amounts of surgery.
Im generally talking about mids Bont, Oliver types but used the TT and Jackson examples as they were the direct quotes from the 2 recruiters I heard and interesting both of these have the capacity to become an extra mid while rucking.

Tsatsas , keeler, michealanny. Thank your mother for the rabbits
Would be great, but Tsatas (unless Ashcroft wants to play for North) and Keeler probably go a touch earlier than our pucks on current projections. Should still be some pretty good mids at our first and mids/ talls for our second.

Out of interest list Managers and recruiters always have to take into account future years. Anyone got a feel for the 2023 group?

I think part of our problem has been we haven't hit the right drafts over the years.

We just haven’t drafted well enough, it’s as simple as that. Assume 2 of Gallucci, Jones, McHenry and McAsey are quality players and that’s a big lift for our team.

Just thinking...
If Adelaide and North are actually in "negotiations", our game against them becomes interesting as North will have a strong incentive to hold us to the basement of the ladder.

I know what you are implying and it smells of "draft tampering"/match fixing for both Clubs.

No it doesn't. It just means North have more incentive to win.

The 2 I like as rookies if available still Tall Forward Phoenix Foster and strongly built mid Jake Walker.
I like Walker a lot - do you think Foster is a tall forward at senior level?

Rd 22 last year would have been a good time to start then
It would have been, but too many posters were getting excited about us winning an irrelevant meaningless game in our rebuild.

North came at us in the final term and were within 3 goals.

A nice loss here would have given us Pick 2 and IMO a very real chance of getting JHF, by trading our 1st rounder and future 1st for him. I have no doubt North would have done the deal.

That's where Phoenix has played the bulk of his football for the Relegs not ruck where he was used for SA in the early game. We're talking a rookie spot so why not? Plenty of development to come physically and he's quite athletic to my eye.

I do doubt they would have as they would have been totally seduced by his game V Glenelg in the prelim. That looked a very special player to my eye in that game
