My guess:

Rory Sloane - Retire/New Contract 1 year
Chayce Jones - New contract
Harry Schoenberg - New contract
Andrew McPherson - Delist
Josh Worrell - New Contract
Shane McAdam - New Contract
Jordan Butts (R) - New Contract
Fischer McAsey - Delist
Tom Doedee - New Contract
Darcy Fogarty - New Contract
Lachlan Murphy - New Contract
Nick Murray (R) - New Contract
Kieran Strachan (R) - New Contract
Matthew Crouch - Delist
Paul Seedsman - Delist/retire
Jackson Hately - - Delist
Zac Talyor - New Contract
Luke Nankervis - New Contract
Taylor Walker - Retire/New Contract 1 year
James Borlase - Delist
Tariek NewChurch - Delist

Of course things could change in 12 months, with players wanting out (e.g. Frampton this year). Those could be uncontracted players, or players who are contracted for 2024.

Potentially (depending on Walker & Sloane), that's 8 players off the senior list. Murray will likely be upgraded from the rookie list, but that's still a LOT of players to be drafting. With (potentially) 4 of our remaining 6x 100+ game players exiting, it would also leave us seriously short of experience.

If someone gazumps us on Strachan, then we'd need to find another ruckman with one of our 2x ND picks, or our only RD pick. If there are worse options than letting Strachan go, then I don't want to think about what they are. It's a terrible idea.
I'd take a huge risk and delist Crouch & attempt to rookie him ......we just have to hope & pray, a Club doesn't snatch him from under our noses

Murph and McHenry could easily find themselves delisted when their contracts run out too. Nicks might be a goner if he puts out another shit season and both of those guys will end up having their first meeting with the new coach be their last meeting.

I think the fanbase opinion of Murphy and McHenry and Nicks opinion on them are at opposite ends.
Fans demand goals from small forwards. Nicks doesn't seem to think it matters.

So whats the general consensus on Rowe?
Not good enough?
Might be good enough, but played Out of position?
Was good enough
I reckon he was much better than expected in his movement downfield, ball getting, and passing.
However, he didn't live up to the hype of a goalsneak. His kicking for goal was very poor.
On that alone, he would be worth another go at improving.

The killer, however, is that he had little defence and no ability to keep the ball inside the 50 when under one-on one pressure.
There was one glaring example of that in an AO game which I reckon sealed the deal on his sacking under this defence-minded coach.

Would be happy if Buckley took over after next year tbh.
out: Mchenry, murphy, mcasey, crouch, sholl, sloane

Yes to the outs but I'm not keen on Buckley. The only time Collingwood looked good under him was when he had Longmuir helping him out. Things reverted back to the mean when he left for Freo.

I have nothing against Strachan, he seems like a perfectly serviceable ruckman, but if the club does need to vacate another list spot, then it really wouldn’t be that bigger deal. Again, we’re not having our season derailed if O’Brien goes down. No flags or serious finals pushes are being gambled on here. If O’Brien goes down then TT and Himmelberg are capable of holding down the role adequately for a bottom 8 club. We do not need to waste a draft pick on a backup. We just don’t. Get through this year and have a crack at a ruckman from another club. It’s easily done and happens all the time and won’t cost an arm and a leg. It’s not that bigger deal for next year.

That why Nicks is in trouble if he continues to play those 2 and we keep losing.

Hopefully Murphy never plays an AFL game again.
My guess/hope is it's the "best of a bad situation" type deal. Like they have have traits that he wants for the position, so they get the nod until we find someone better.

It's hard to see them both in the side next year if we're adding Rankine and trying to blood guys like Taylor and Pedlar too. Someone like Murphy should be the first one making way.

Pretty much no chance of either of these statements being true.

Murph has one more year, McHenry has two so they won't get delisted at the same time. I could easily see Murph going, then McHenry the following year though. If Nicks remains, they're probably safe. He loves talentless players who try hard.

Neither will be going at the end of their current contracts.

.. and there's no chance of Nicks being sacked next year either.

I am an outlier it seems as i would have him 1000 times out of 1000 ahead of mchenry or murphy. He is a natural footballer with limitations but he has vastly better footskills than the other 2. Its a list f up to have him as the odd one out of those 3 imo

I don't think it will matter in two years. We can only cut so many players every year and replace them with better talents.

They are a leftover from the pre-2020 rebuild.

Unfortunately, it comes down to the only one out of the three who was out of contract.

Spoke to a guy today that told me one of the coaches gave Reid a list of players that were unlikely to have an AFL career. Reid signed all them up. Most on 2-3 year deals.
And you were dumb enough to believe them?
