I think with people not being able to attend for a couple years we've all been a bit forgetfulIs this your 1st year as a GA Member?
I have no idea what that even means. Is this your 1st year as a GA Member?
Think still went to about six matches last year.I think with people not being able to attend for a couple years we've all been a bit forgetful
Its not so much about them, it's about us. Building a consistant structure / process you don't go dropping core individuals week to week on a whim. Mobile yet inconsistent kid with big upside and a tree trunk that to my mind has been a huge part of our center clearance work should be our default. De Koning is miles off lead ruck physically and you will break him before you see his ceiling if you try. Also you then run the risk of having a proven gun center square out fit trying to ruck off the opposition. Never operate on the margins. With the unfortunate injury to McEvoy … I don’t see the need to go in with two rucks …
No I think the centre clearance to goal 666 has really started to take effect .. even if it is just for territory gain-- you can't afford to lose a couple and sides get a run on -- Of TDK can become a CHF and we can play a permanent ruck it would be fantasticSeems like the two rucks are back for a lot of clubs, part of the big push to be the next Melbourne
When you arrive via .I never heard of that either.
Gate 5, 6 or 7 heard of but not A28.

This. It's time for us to stop worrying about the opposition team when we make our selections and instead make opposition teams start worrying about us.Its not so much about them, it's about us. No in between?Changes pretty standard, Martin will be the sub
If we are switched on, we smash em, otherwise we lose
NahNo in between?
I am going to continue to respond with contempt as it shows my sheer expression to your posts.Another great start
We're objectively and subjectively not, and it's basic tactical and more complex form considerations that would see us make a shift.
Rewards on-going performance metrics from reserve and first team players. Communication is key.
Sort of, and no. And as I've said repeatedly, in terms of the tapouts, the ruck opposition has been some of the weakest the league has to offer in terms of first choice options for a side.
Nope, there's just more activity around him. Our midfield chains are incredible with and without him.
No, he's a high half-forward that's playing very loose.
His link play has been mediocre, and he isn't creating any quality opportunities for team mates. He's reaping the rewards of a midfield that is genuinely providing 22-35 disposals a head to everyone in it.
He looked great in the Melbourne pre-season game, but the speed of the game has stepped up and he hasn't. He's a good kick technically, but he is currently putting himself in terrible positions to receive and dispose, and it's resulting in him weakening the chain of possession when the key reason he's in the team is to enhance that.
Setterfield, Durdin, O'Brien, and even Fogarty did a better job of this, and Fogarty was way better at forward pressuring* and pressuring the opposition counter-attack.
I'm starting to think the sheer number of single line comments and lathering of superlatives suggests you might be taking an overly emotive stance that isn't reflected in reality.
Just a tiny bit.
Newman was the weakest interceptor in the defensive unit, by far (3). Also barely made a spoil (2). There are midfielders that outperformed him in terms of defensive duties, even some forwards that came close, albeit not really in the D50.
Might have made a better case if you could point to lanes/channels he closed without needing to make a play, or the work of direct opponents, but we both know he didn't do much there either.
He's in the team for decision making with the ball and a decent long kick, but it shouldn't be at the expense of basic defensive play. The sooner he's out of the team, the less under pressure our defence will be, especially when there are 3 options close to selection that are both more athletic and more technically proficient by foot.
The ability to identify and work to supplant weaknesses and enhance strengths in a performing team is what separates the good from the great. We were long overdue for being good with this list, which is why two senior coaches were sacked, and now we're in the window where we should be quickly evolving into great.
Fortune favours the bold, the brave, and the smart, to a point. Staying the course for no substantial reason does not reflect that, it reflects superstition.
