St Kilda’s board has backed the pursuit of Collingwood free agent Jordan De Goey up to and until he re-signs with the Pies.
St Kilda football head Simon Lethlean said the board supported the club chasing any and all free agents as long as it had done extensive background work on the player and the player fitted with the club’s overall list strategy.
Don’t like it all.
But I can’t see de goey leaving pies so we sweet.

Gringo you are well aware the current people in charge of the list - Leathlean has already gutted the list and have brought in players to What I can gather Dunstan was let goe due to ill disaplineupgrade the list and has started to bring in good talent.
You take out Ross , Hill , Sinclair , Crouch , Membery all of the rest of the best 22 are 26 or under.
And the guys I have mentioned the only ones I feel I would miss would be Sinclair , Crouch and Membery so our team has got heaps more upside.
Even guys like Howard , who is 25 and 2m tall - has massive upside and Marshall as a ruckman will only get better every year - and a guy like King with a few more kgs in the future years is going to be a massive for us.

To me if we can pick up another good couple draft picks and DeGoey and a ruckman like Briggs at GWS , we should be primed.

Dunstan was let go most probably for ill discipline , not following coaches instructions etc.

He was better at a game plan that Ratts sadly.

Why? Neither are good enough for AFL. Bytel at least has potential, Dunstan is a shot bird.
Nah not true - Dunstan played 5 games this year in the team with the best midfield in the league.

Bytel couldn't even break into our midfield.

I find it funny how on one hand you want the club to be ruthless yet on the other you think it's terrible that we hurt Luke Dunstan's feelings.

I think for a coach who is meant to be relationship based he pisses off a lot of people. I find you funny because you get pissy everytime anyone questions the club. That was clumsily handled you can pretend otherwise but we have a player leaving the club not just a bit disgruntled, he was openly vitriolic.

Pretend it was well handled all you want but it wasn't.

Can't believe people are still hung up about Luke ******* Dunstan 😂

Who's hung up about it. I suggested Ratts had bungled his exit. The usual hysterics need a lie down because it was suggested that it reflected badly on us.

Surely he repays the faith and accepts a modest wage.
Why because he got caught being a normal young guy on holiday in Bali. The way collingwood treated treloar and others they surely wouldn’t have the nerve to play the loyalty card. I might add they‘re pushing grundy out the door now.

Heard it as more like he'd played his last game for the Saints. Only to get called up again any way because we were running out of players.

No that was just Tom Morris making up stuff to create a headline.

Dunstan played seniors before we had the huge injury toll & was so bad he was dropped.

Seems relevant to bring it up in the context of someone suggesting Bytel has issues with the coach, too.

Stuff like that can be easily ignored at successful clubs, saying players also hated Ross Lyon means little when he was getting the best out of them on field.

Against Richmond. The forum was screaming that he should never play for us again.
Came back and played really well, but had burnt his bridges. Disrupting influence.

Again simply not true.

Dunstan got back into the side in Round 11 and played the next 10 games in a row until he was dropped for the final game of the season.

That was despite being the 3rd highest possession winner in his final game ahead of Hannebery, Jones and Ross.

Yep - agree wholeheartedly. Rushed disposal out of the centre seems to be OK for Crouch.

The difference between Crouch & Dunstan wasn’t in the rushed kicks out of a stoppage.

Dunstan was atrocious when he had both space & time.

Crouch is absolutely elite in comparison.

It is absolutely true.

He played in round 5 or 6 v Richmond (as JB posted).

He also cost us the game v Geel with his usual high standard of disposal.

How exactly did we bungle his exit? Should we have given him a pack of Roses chocolates to smooth things over? We told him he wasn't good enough and he disagreed so bagged out the club on his way out. I think you're being fairly hysterical about the whole thing to be honest.

Dog didn’t eat the homework apparently.

New narrative.

Lethlean, because he is under pressure is selling our future to get DeGoey across the line and destroying our salary cap.

Doesn't matter if it is remotely true or not, as long as it fits the catastrophizing of everything to do with the club.
