Billings to half back and Sinclair into the middle would actually be worth a try imo …

Could easily see billings making a good go of half back

To me you do what ever you can to get your best player on the ball. Go down in flames, not holding back the dam wall.

Wouldn't work.

Billings would never pull the trigger on a corridor kick and would offer zero run or rebound.

He is a neat kick don't get me wrong but you want someone with some attacking flair to kick start your ball movement.
Billings is fast approaching Jack Newnes status… we’ve nearly moved past him being a regular best 22 player.

We’ve absolutely ‘StKilda-ed’ him 😞

Ross rediscovered it. Perhaps we need to reprogram him. Ross is a shocking decision maker if he stops and thinks, move it quickly on instinct and he's actually creative. Billings needs to back first instinct, that's the 5 snapped goals against the Dogs guy before we broke him. Billings doesn't have to be Steele, he just needs to play his best footy.
Ross is a multiple times b&f winner

Billings has finished top 10 in only 4 of 9 seasons & only top 5 once…

They are NOT the same

how many games did Billings play this year where you even noticed he was playing? Club needs to go past players like him who do the bare minimum.
He was dropped after the Adelaide game for his failure to run both ways & his accountability.

He's 3 years older than Hunter Clark and has pretty much missed 2 years of footy. He was probably primed to step up but his body has held him back. He's never going to be a contested player and he will always probably frustrate but when I was looking at past stats he was actually one of our better players for a long time. I think we've just lost patience with him which corresponded with his injury run. A bit like Hill, the outside running wings don't really have a strong role at the Saints ATM, well certainly in 2020 they didn't.

I'm giving him another open minded chance and hopefully injury doesn't ruin that for him.

He was still in our handful of good players. When I was looking through past stats, he's been a very good player. He's the type like Hill that in a good system could have been a really good player. Peak Hawks would have got a lot out of him for example. He's probably snuggled for a bit of consistency but he's had half seasons where he looked like he could end up a star. On ballers get a lot more awards and Ross really only had Stuv for company most of his career. Wings and HFF are at the mercy of the mids to feed them so are the opposite. In a poor side they get SFA.

It doesn't matter if they are wingmen or half forwards - some players are more willing to give there all and some don't.
Why did Mason Wood and McKenzie out perform Billings and Wood - because they gave there all.

What ever, he was better than most of our players last year when he got in. The club self sabotages and has a legion of online fanboys who cheers every dumb decision we make. Finished on the same Brownlow points as Dusty off 4 less games too. He had a great run of games and because the club had made a bad call you guys rushed to see the positives in it. He had limitations but if that was a criteria for delisting, we couldn't field a side.
And the "woe is us" attitude towards players like Dunstan is exactly why we are where we are right now. WE have been nowhere near ruthless enough towards guys with severe limitations. Don't get me wrong, I liked Spook and thought he had somne good qualities, but if blokes like that win flags its luck and the elite work of other players that carries them there.............

Rather have * all idea and get laughed at than be a sycophantic lap dog to every dumb decision the club ever makes. I may be hypercritical but your saccharine nonsense where the club can't make a single mistake gives you zero credibility as well.

So Dunstan is a dud = sychophantic lap dogs

And Dunstan makes us a finals team = truth warriors

The main mistake the club was drafting a kid who was the same player at 18 that he was at 15.

Which then translated into being the same player at 25.

He probably had our third most Brownlow votes for half a season last year and we turned around our season when he came in. Embarrassing that fans back the club despite all evidence showing that they make constant mistakes.
Cmon Gringo...I can go back and find hundreds of posts with you telling everyone Dunstan is crap and shouldn't be in the side.

Now he is 9th in line at demons he's suddenly an absolute class player..

Ffs we saw enough to know we weren't going anywhere with him, seems every other club saw that as well as Melbourne was the only one to offer him a contract and it was a minimum one at that.

I suggest if you want to do circle jerks about Dunstan, piss off to the Melbourne boars and do it....it's bloody ridiculous here...

No issues moving Dunny for the sake of Bytel, but now Bytel moving out for opportunity is pretty shameful management.
He had the opportunity to play maybe one game this year.....at the end.....boo flipping hoo, if that's his gripe then he can piss off elsewhere....he hasn't exactly set the world alight when he's been for anyway...

So no, the REAL mistake is having a poor development rate over the last 12 years. The only way players develop on our list is if they do it themselves or if they are already brilliant.

And any that leave were the worst players ever but we keep overpaying for worse players. Acres has outperformed Hill and was steak knives. Carlton will get him for a fourth round pick. Langford was just about free but because we made a parade about getting Hill we backed ourselves into a corner.

Hickey also on that list. I can't remember the justification on here but he was great loss as well. Would have used the pick on Robbie Young or something.

We * up our high end trades and only need to do those to make a distraction because we don't draft as well as others. It's a cycle of stupid. And the forum cheers it on like it's great management. We are like a demented geriatric that pays those nice young Irish guys $100,000 to fix their roofs and can't work out why it still leaks.
At what point has acres out played Hill?
Up until this year, everyone at freo wanted him gone....seems even now they don't rate him very highly...

Everyone worried because we may lose Jack Bytel, got me thinking of another inside mid player who struggled to get a game Charlie Constable. Now when at Geelong Constable had a very experienced group ahead of him, but since moving to the Suns he has played 13 games in the VFL.
After comparing their career stats, tell me why we still need Jack Bytel.
