Everyone worried because we may lose Jack Bytel, got me thinking of another inside mid player who struggled to get a game Charlie Constable. Now when at Geelong Constable had a very experienced group ahead of him, but since moving to the Suns he has played 13 games in the VFL.
After comparing their career stats, tell me why we still need Jack Bytel.

Because Bytel isn’t Constable? Can probably pull up stats of some very good players at similar stages of their career and make an opposing point.

Why would anyone do that, imo the billings hate on here is absurd. Sinclair and DMac and quite a few other were rubbish according to many on here. Then last years little hissy was ross was rubbish, billing was a jib who was vanilla 🥱 and couldn‘t play, even though he was injured it was merciless. Ross has rubbed a few noses in it so is an injured billings last man standing.

Billings is classy, dependable, can hit a target and find plenty of the ball played as a forward or on a wing, his crime is not being the bont. We have plenty I’d have out the door before him that’s for sure. Also we have max heath running around at sandy already and can draft another for chump change.

Hell no

The ross banter last year was spot on. Good on him for finally putting in 100% this year. Maybe when he found no suitors last year, he realised his time in the AFL was limited if he didn't turn things around quickly.

Sinclair was never potted.

Dmac once upon a time for his disposal. Feels a long time ago now. Was never on much coin. No reason to pot him in recent times?

But where does he play other than an inside mid, I think players of today need more strings to their bow.

I can honestly say i dont always back the club but 100% do on this one

The fact only one other club wanted him and it was as a depth player says it all really.

He's now playing VFL and probably about to start a chippy apprenticeship.

Easy to say that when he himself said he would rather be a chippy then stay on our list. The "one" club who wanted him happens to be the reigning premiers while our premiership every year is waiting for the draft period! Hate him all you like, fact is though, we were shocking early last year till Dunstan played and provided a leading role in the team turning around it's fortunes.

Billings is fast approaching Jack Newnes status… we’ve nearly moved past him being a regular best 22 player.

We’ve absolutely ‘StKilda-ed’ him 😞
Lets hope if he can get a decent run with injuries and get over his mental demons in front of goals, he can have a big season next year?

I don't hate him.

The one club that wanted him also knew they were taking him as a depth player just in case they had a run with injuries.

Says it all.

Much prefer to be giving games to the likes of Owens and Windhager.

Why are we fighting over Luke Dunstan?

Why are we fighting over Luke Dunstan?

Because…

And the "woe is us" attitude towards players like Dunstan is exactly why we are where we are right now. WE have been nowhere near ruthless enough towards guys with severe limitations. Don't get me wrong, I liked Spook and thought he had somne good qualities, but if blokes like that win flags its luck and the elite work of other players that carries them there.............

You have to replace them with something else. If you can't draft and trade in inappropriate players then you go nowhere. Culling to few players isn't the issue holding us back. Poor list management is probably going to cost Gags his job but you guys will still be justifying the club.

Dunny missed the 2020 season injured. He was 24 in 2019, a year older than Hunter Clark Is now. He was actually pretty solid in 2019 and lifting. I think we got impatient and he was definitely playing good footy last year.

So Dunstan is a dud = sychophantic lap dogs

And Dunstan makes us a finals team = truth warriors

The main mistake the club was drafting a kid who was the same player at 18 that he was at 15.

Which then translated into being the same player at 25.

I think that you'll find through his posting history that he's spent the last decade fighting with anyone that criticises anything the club does. If you want to be in their little group of brown nosed warriors good for you.

At what point has acres out played Hill?
Up until this year, everyone at freo wanted him gone....seems even now they don't rate him very highly...

Everyone has wanted Hill dropped until this year.

Cmon Gringo...I can go back and find hundreds of posts with you telling everyone Dunstan is crap and shouldn't be in the side.

Now he is 9th in line at demons he's suddenly an absolute class player..

Ffs we saw enough to know we weren't going anywhere with him, seems every other club saw that as well as Melbourne was the only one to offer him a contract and it was a minimum one at that.

I suggest if you want to do circle jerks about Dunstan, piss off to the Melbourne boars and do it....it's bloody ridiculous here...

I was his biggest critic until last year but I can see when someone is playing good footy. He turned me around like Ross has. He would have been better being depth for us than Melbourne. It's a pretty basic concept but some people are too basic for even that concept.

Pretty sure he didn’t want to be depth for us.

That was the issue.

I think the basic concept is

A- he didn't want to be depth
B- his form wasn't actually that good as he only got a base offer from one team.....to be a depth player......who now play half forwards over him as mids.

Plus he turned it around after he was told he was just about last in line....how come it took that long?

And then sooked it up because he was told there were others ahead of him

Made himself out to be an absolute prima-dona....good riddance.

If a coach were to tell a player that he wouldn't be picked under no circumstance for the year....then that coach would be sacked on the spot...I can't believe that actual grown adults would believe that bullshit....

He’s shit gringo. He kept bytel out of the team and if he had stayed he would have kept windy and Owens out the team. Because he was a mature body who could pick up 25 of the worst possessions in footy. Don’t get me wrong, the club makes some horrible decisions. Getting rid of dunstan was not one of them. Playing him in the first place was.

Dunstan was on a pretty good wage with us , his fall from grace would of been soul destroying for him.

Not only that but he thought he knew better than those in charge.

Not many employers will keep and employee on if they don't do as asked.

He cracked the shits on a reality TV program. Says it all really.

The likelihood that he plays any sort of finals is ridiculous. They'd have to lose a couple of inside mids.
Even when they lost Oliver the best that Dunstan could manage was the medi sub.

This idea that he would have gotten us to the finals is pretty far fetched.
Would have been behind a number of players who funnily enough held their spots.
