Hanners,Gears haven’t played and u can see how much better we are when Ryder plays.

Our leadership group is still relatively young. Membrey the only one who has just ticked over 150 games. We need more onfield leadership to assist imho

Bringing in more talented 18 year olds isn’t the solution. Selling out the farm for draft picks won’t help.

Clark can be replaced I can’t see a like for like for Brad hill in our side tbf.

What Geelong show me is that discipline, system and work rate can cover a multitude of sins. Selwood and Danger are still guns but they aren't what they were. Geelong's midfield is very meh but as you say, none of them are lazy or one way or confused. They cut space up so tight that you get strangled. Sydney get the ball to the outside and run the ball quickly before you can set up. There just wasn't any space to open up.

Geelong actually retained the ball too, they spread to free up players when they had the ball and kicked and marked which they have done less of lately. Premier teams change the fashion, perhaps Ratts chip, mark game looks up to date now? I think we would need a discipline and skill transplant to achieve it though. Perhaps we need to get Selwood like Brisbane did with Hodge. We still have no leadership.

I think what this season showed is that Chris Scott is a fantastic coach and their coaching group are top class.

Their discipline, buy-in and intensity are all things you don’t need skill to execute. But ALL of their players do it, from the best player to the 22nd player.

Their coaching leaves us for dead. Yes, they have some brilliant and talented players. But they execute the team based skills better than any other club.

I don’t like Geelong but I greatly admire the way they play, year after year. It is driven from the coaches box.

Seems to be a below standard mid or a hbf.

We were at the Swans after party at Crown, was a bit glum...however I did have Leo Barry tell me he would rather be at this event after getting pumped by 81 points then not be at a grand final after party event for your old team at all...he told me this after I told him I was a Sainters supporter.

Has to be a lot more to Clark possibly getting traded, I’ve heard that Saints put it to Clark that it might be in the best interest of both club and player if he explored options. Apparently came as a bit of a shock to Clark but now he’s accepted he might be traded and if that’s the case North is his preferred option although I’m not sure if anything has changed since the Clarko allegations have come out. Clark is happy to stay at Saints if no deal is done.

It’s likely that he will. Maybe it’s a game of poker where one side is waiting for the other to blink.

But maybe De Goey isn’t going to blink. With every day that passes the intrigue grows. I must admit I’m surprised nothing has been announced.

She's a bit conservative with her decision making, and can only play one position, but has the ability to rule the central kingdom through a long career... But its a no from me, she's a bit too much like Seb Ross and we already have a King, the only other Monarch I will accept at the saints is a second King.

Trout and Libba are both gone now so how do you propose to make them accountable?

Thanks and this has been reported since the news broke. Clark is happy to stay, fans are happy for him to stay and if what I have been told club happy for him to stay if they can't get a really good deal for him.
Now depends what a good deal is, in isolation Norths 2nd and 3rd futures look a bad deal,.
But say we land pick 7 with the Long deal and get Bowes, we have pick 7 pick 9 and 27, this year, a first and 2 seconds and 2 3rds next year
We have currency to get say another pick in the first round this year

So let's say we have 7, 9, and 15 this year, have lost Long and Clark.

Does 3 firsts in the top 15 compensate for the poor return for Clark? To me yes, to others they will moan about what we got for Clark for sure.

I want to keep Clark BTW.

Meeting Micky O on the way in which was a good start, the food was tasty, having an endless supply of yummy bred rolls and unlimited Crown larger on the table was gold, and getting getting changed in to a suit ( to meet the dress code) in the carpark with my partner putting on a cocktail dress made it all a fun night...whilst navigating our way back through Crown meeting a current Saints players parent and chatting all things Sainters was the cherry on top...was a ripping night...with no bongs to rip in sight

Ducking is an irritating and unsporting part of the game but the outrage is overblown about it.
