Is there actually anything in this Hayes and 15 talk or was it just a flying comment on trade radio?

Seems like wishful thinking
More the latter. The Herald Sun also floated it in an article saying we could make a play for it but there is nothing saying GWS would be up for giving up a first rounder for someone to take Haynes salary.

That’s a stretch.
Total accidental injuries. No one is prone to getting the injuries he did.
Clark is prone to putting himself in dangerous situations despite not doing anything too stupid and subsequently gets injured.
There is a technique issue to a degree. But either way he seems to get hurt a lot.

Could say the same about Paddy McCartin in our time with us. Wasnt soft tissues or anything just concussions rather than jaws.

Not sure if that is sarcasm. Hopefully it is. Just in case it isn’t I struggle to see how every year every side is going to be better. I reckon our 2009 side beats the 2022 Geelong side.
Yes sorry, it was. It was a sly swipe at the ones who say every other team will magically improve but saints wont

Was it more around if the Hopper deal couldnt go through?
As a secondary option to balance their books

Sure they would quite happily consider it if the offer was right though even if hopper goes

No, as I said, the order has changed. And no doubt it will.change again.

Do you think the order of the draft will be the difference to the top ten prospects sliding to 15?

I'm not sure I do.

Wed have to get very lucky for a Phillipou type to slide that far

15 would be a good spot to fill a need though.

There’s a reasonable chance that Hewett, who I really like, and/or Busslinger slides there.

But if they didn’t Oli Hotton and Jacob Konstanty could help with our small forward stocks. Or Lewis Hayes could be that young developing KPD that we really need.

Would love Noble at the Saints.

A darn good operator and a fine man. Highly respected.

I wonder how close to the limit our soft cap is getting.

I dunno. I still think a fit Hunter Clark could fill a bigger hole.

Get both he and Coffield fit and nail our first pick this year and that's a big win in my book.

I'd look at other ways to try and get a pick in that region.

Dangerous positions ? That's crap. AFL football is actually dangerous. He's had some bad luck through no fault of his own.
The last one when he was given a Glasgow kiss by Butler, breaking open and breaking his nose is case in point. Clark was
running towards the ball, Butler with the flight of the ball. Clark had "right of way". Anyway, point being it could have happened
to anyone, except Hill perhaps.

The potential of Haynes being traded if Hopper didn't has done the rounds but there has been nothing genuine about GWS offering a first round pick for someone to take Haynes.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that our best season in 2020 was when they both had there best seasons. We need them firing this year

Your absolutely right It's easy to say but just as easy to look at Afl.com au and see that Geelong have done EXACTLY that
What A grade talent or 1st round picks did Geelong give up to get a pick 10 player and pick ? just a lot of money over 4 years.
We paid hannebery a fortune!!

Who said you have to trade away your first round picks and trade away an A grader?

It's called a salary dump

Clubs have been salary dumping for a couple years and now it will be occurring every year in the future so let's start getting on board so we can grab A grade talent without giving up other A grade talent or high draft picks
Cats did get a nice little boost getting three first round picks for Tim Kelly.

They were both tackling a bloke

I’m not talking about trading Hunter. I’m talking about the Haynes + 15 scenario. If it really exists.

You’re crazy.

Hipwood is the rare mix of soft, both physically and mentally, gets the yips worse than Max, goes missing longer than Maddie McCann.

Absolutely not.

He's pretty much Max King, has days where he can't miss and others where he invents new ways to miss.

It’s a contact sport - those types of accidents happen. It was damn unfortunate luck he had two akin to car crashes In a short space of time.

But he’s not injury prone in terms of body durability of calves, groins, back,
hammies and ankles etc like Gresh for example. He’s missed a lot of footy through these types of injury - so I’d be more hesitant trading in a Gresh type than a Clark type of injury and I wouldn’t be trading out Clarke for reasons of him being “prone to injury.”

Umm…

Max King, if you are happy with the C grade version that generally has no impact on games.

David Noble literally called king a superstar. Said clubs double team him right now and he still impacts games.

Amazing that some still don’t realise the player he is, understand goal kicking has let him down but he cops way too much criticism.

He desperately needs some help in the FWD 50.

I would like us to be known as the salary dumps Saints.
We'll take anyone's trash for picks.
