Slid for good reasons too IMO. They often do

So basically we'd be trading Clark, who was apparently only worth a top 10 pick last week, in the hope the the players we like in the top ten slide to 16

Sounds like a risk to me. Prefer we keep him

It was a risk for Port to trade out Wingard. He had more runs on the board at the time than Hunter currently has( he was a genuine young star of the competition).

I don’t think they regret taking that risk.

Haynes and 15 and then trade next years first for another first rounder. Hit the draft with 3 picks inside the top 15. A big injection of youth is what we desperately need.

Mr. Austinn, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I usually like what Austinn has to say...but your post sir, has amused me. Bravo. 🤣

Please guys, we have an entire forum if you would like to discuss Erica Hipwood

Remember that this is the mens trade thread.

Cheers :thumbsu:

I hope he does, not only because I want this team to do well, but to show all the haters that were openly shitting on him on the Saints social media pages that they know nothing. It's an awful thought that this fella might be stoked to have landed at another club for a fresh chance and the facebook and instagram page is just full of vile hatred over an appointment that costs us basically nothing.
Same shit happened with Nathan Brown but just not nearly as bad. Brown pretty quickly won people over and I reckon Cordy will as well but he shouldnt ****ing have to. Its absolutely pathetic the way people talk about players both on here and social media.

If North offered us pick 1 for Windhager would we take it?

They would need to throw in LDU as well for me to take that deal.
It seems the lower down the draft you go the more work the draftee needs to put in to get into the shape they need to be.

Gresham for instance has taken 7 years to get into the shape to play in the midfield.
Coffield looks to be coming on quicker however the ACL derailed him.
Hunter Clark is another that is taking forever to get into the shape to be a performer at AFL level.

However Windhager is a completely different story , in his first year he was given the role on Neale and just beat him - he has the talent to be the game changer we have been craving - we will see what happens this year but he could easily be our next superstar.

Ok final offer: Hunter Clark and Marcus Windhager for Eric Hipwood and a future 4th.

Sorry Guys, James Gallagher's been hacking my BF account for the last few hours.

Masterful haggling, Ghags

Cordy is 25 and his best football is ahead of him - guys that are tall and thin usually take time to develop.

Easy to say "come out and trade for A graders", but we are either trading away our 1st round picks or losing another a grader!
But yeah let's just get all these A graders onto our list without losing any of our current assets...cmon mate
Your absolutely right It's easy to say but just as easy to look at Afl.com au and see that Geelong have done EXACTLY that
What A grade talent or 1st round picks did Geelong give up to get a pick 10 player and pick ? just a lot of money over 4 years.
We paid hannebery a fortune!!

Who said you have to trade away your first round picks and trade away an A grader?

It's called a salary dump

Clubs have been salary dumping for a couple years and now it will be occurring every year in the future so let's start getting on board so we can grab A grade talent without giving up other A grade talent or high draft picks

I heard him getting interviewed, sounds like Freo put up a decent offer but Blake chose to shop himself around because this is the contract that will take him through his most profitable contract. Carlton have apparently been working on getting him over since earlier in the season. Not sure it was Freo just cutting him loose.
Well sen said it was a crap offer. It was certainly only one year so I can’t see how that is a decent offer. They let him go. Obviously he was easy to keep if they really wanted him as he is home.

But every other team will always be so much better. Did you not know this??

Not sure if that is sarcasm. Hopefully it is. Just in case it isn’t I struggle to see how every year every side is going to be better. I reckon our 2009 side beats the 2022 Geelong side.

Yep, he was completely low balled. So much so that they said he was pretty much pushed out.

This use to be common knowledge, but seems to be forgotten when talking about 21/22 year old kpp, even on this board.
