Yep coops, the norf board and some riding this horse hard on here, yep lock that in. Trade radio spoke to Rawlings, maybe have a listen I had it on for about 5 minutes some time after 2.00. How is st Kilda keeping 1 of our most talented players not a win over the lousy trades mooted on here? Let me guess now not only doesn’t he train but he’s an axe wielding homicidal maniac who drinks and smokes and bares his bum in public.
I like that, we need a bit of psycho mongrel in the team

Because there have been several clubs desperate to either get salary off the books (GC and Pies) or trade picks this year for players (Norf). And there was a chance to be opportunistic and get a great deal weighted in our clubs favour out of those situations and from all report, our list management and recruiters were too busy jerking off over De Goey groping chicks then contacting any other clubs.
lol were we? You don't think the club contacted the other clubs? Bowes didn't want to come to the Saints, we didn't want Grundy @ 1 mill over 5 years left.
And we weren't suppose to go after DeGoey? Why not, they said months ago FA and draft.

Who are the other salary dumps? The mythical Haynes one? Really some of the stuff on here is a bit silly.

We've been hearing that we've asked the question on a few players but for undisclosed reasons, we didn't pursue those further.

It shouldn't be difficult to understand that just because a conversation isn't reported, doesn't mean it didn't occur.

Geez O'Meara is the gift that keeps giving for the Hawks. a late pick and Hawks pay ALL of O'Meara's salary.

FMD, Clarko the master. Meanwhile we have Battle and Coff, with an overs 32 for a fringe Long. But we never do anything right and all the other teams are always better :drunk::drunk:

Yes it’s been blue ribbon year, maybe due to a large consumption of.

They had a plan that failed badly but ours wasn’t any better unfortunately but on balance we won that deal easily.

We got pick 7 26 and 39 for one frdp. We would alway pick Clark at 7 so Coffield at 8 Long @ 26 Battle @ 39, how is that not a good return. Coff did a knee but still has great potential, Battle settled, Long gone but we got a good pick. Compared to what they paid for O'Meara, what the output was and now what they need to do to get rid of him, it was masterful.

We really seem to have absolutely whiffed on anything resembling a need or a good deal but then got Cordy at the same size as Howard for no reason other than depth.

It’s not a “bad” trade period cause we haven’t lost anything but it can’t be good cause we haven’t done anything.

I still can’t believe no one managed to convince Bowes that getting his $750k a year for two (or even extending it to four for the same or slightly less) and coming to a team with a spot for him was better than going to Geelong where I actually seen him in the ones for less money… its ******* staggering
100%

Probably going to end up with more for Long than Hawks get back for O'Meara too.

Thing that irks about the Bowes trade is not the pick 7 or the 3rd rounder coming back its Geelong being able to spread the 1.6m over more years ...... surely if that has happened then the AFL should have said NO ... the 1.6m must be included within the next 2 years SC.

That to me is the bullshit part
Wouldn't be surprised if the AFL put together some rules around that for next trade period.

Not sure what the issue is

They extended his contract for 2 years

It was never going to be anywhere near what he's on for the first two years

So instead of giving all his money in the first 2 years he gets it in a even spread

Clubs front end and back end contracts all the time

It's now all back on the current list to improve. We aren't doing anything this trade period. A depth third tall back for a depth adaptable small forward/back who we are lighter on for seems a step sideways or slightly backwards.

Port should make a huge step forward, Collingwood, Geelong, Adelaide, even Melbourne seem to have stepped forward, Jackson has a higher ceiling but Grundy los a better current player. Tigers and Lions look much better. Adelaide look like they have seriously improved their talent pool too.

We look like we stand still and either step up internally or drop a few ladder spots. Hawks, WCE and GWS are looking like they will step backwards and be worse sides next year and North haven't really done enough to move out of the bottom 4.

I'd say our plan is to stop topping up and fall over a bit to load up in a couple of drafts and hopefully get it right next time...... Without really bothering chasing a gun recruiter still.

From a #2 pick to a DFA looking for a third club in 7 years.

Helluva fall.

Pretty disappointing career to be honest. He's not really a proper KP is the main problem. More a Mason Wood mobile athletic tall.

Yes, Setterfield a pick 6 for # 68 as well.

I would look at Schache as a DFA, we seem to go ok Roberton, Wood etc. We could make something out of him. Might be OK at Kings feet or a third tall with Membery.

Jesus you guys could pump out cheap novels, where’s an actual credible named source on the scourge that is hunter Clark. I’ve seen addicts who need a hit with more self control than some on here salivating over a draft pick, crazy stuff. Nobody is seriously saying Clark for pick 3, in fact Clark’s value and what posters would accept is plummeting but still we‘ve got to make it happen 😂😂
cool story bro

Agreed.

A salary dump should be accepted by another club with identical contract terms.

That makes the salary cap genuinely more equitable and rewards clubs who manage it properly.

The Bowes deal is obscene. We all know Geelong are fiddling with their salary cap but allowing them to smooth out the last two years of his contract is rancid. It’s blatant manipulation of the salary cap rules.

The AFL are a disgrace.

B: Webster - Cordy - Wilkie
HB: Battle - Howard - Sinclair
C: Hill - Crouch - Wood/McKenzie
HF: Butler - Schache - Billings
F: Membrey - King - Higgins
Foll: Marshall - Ross - Steele

Int: Windhager Gresham Jones Paton Owens Wanganeen-Milera etc.

Edit: left off the “Oooof. Ugh.”

It's well known that the Cameron trade happened after the trade deadline but got ticked off

Geelong can suck on a bag of donkey dicks ..... AFL cabin boy with their boutique stadium and cushy deals
