Pretty disappointing to not be in the picture for Bowes

I find it hard to believe that Bowes would have interest in joining Essendon and Hawthorn but not St Kilda

Doesn't seem like we were too keen which is strange when we said we want to hit the draft hard
We had interest before we found out he was owed 850k a season.

If we lose Long, Hill And Clark whilst bringing in other club’s delistees we might as well shut up shop.

This is going to be a very demoralising trade period. If by some miracle we could get three draft picks under 30 that would be very good, but probably means we’re going backwards a step before going forwards.

Hill and Clark going nowhere by the sounds of it

I’d pay double that for pick 7. Top 10 picks are our only way out of this rebuild.

Which is disappointing

Clearly the Cats are in a position to fit that in but we aren't

Pick and 9 along with NWM, Wind and Owens would have been a great list refresh
Geelong also have half their list retiring over the next 2 years.

As nice as pick 7 would be, we also can’t screw our cap or ability to bring in a top tier player next year because we are overpaying someone who might not make our best 22.

Is Nick Stevens from Geelong worth a look? Thought he played well in the VFL liked his attack on the ball and a decent mark for an undersized defender. What is the deal with Jarrod Brander thought he played well when given the chance is it off field issues, attitude find it strange.
The issue with Bowes I believe is that he knows that we only want the pick in the deal and given that he would want to go where he is more likely to be played that is probably why we aren't in the conversation. I'm sure we did our due diligence on it.

I’m not a Brander fan, but that definitely fits with Gallaghers narrative and modus operandi.

West Coast played him back and GWS played him forward.

That’s a myth and I wouldn’t be pushing that as a fact.

Gallagher is literally on record as saying we have cap space.

Smokescreen. We're putting all our eggs in the Hartigan basket, building our team around him. He's only about to turn 31, Geelong have shown us that those are the prime days of a player's career. BRING HARTO HOME.

Someone put up the "Its Happening " sign.

We have it now. But we’d lose it when you pay Bowes the 1.7mil he is owed over the next 2-3 years.

So just because we have it, doesn’t mean spending it on Bowes is the best use of it moving forward.

We also have a middling list with an average draft hand.

Outside of bottoming out again it's tough to improve too much with just pick 10 and 28.

We have a few over paid players that we can either try and off load or that will be coming out of contract in the next year or two.

I struggle to see how we couldn't have room at the moment though

It is worth trying something out of the box otherwise we risk and other 5 or 6 years of floating around 8th to 10th

Your not paying Bowes 800k a year.

He is apparently taking a 4 year deal

We do have room, based off what we offered De Goey, but it appears we don’t want to use that money on Bowes. And that’s understandable if we want to target another top tier player next year.
