If Adelaide got that deal for McAdam, Justin Reid should be knighted.
lol .. sure

Seriously though, why would clubs swap top 10 draft picks for a player whose current value at best is probably a mid to late 2nd round pick

About the only place that'd look reasonable is on draft calculator

Absolutely. Less than zero chance Melbourne do it.

But an AMAZING deal for AFC.

In a two-sided deal, with no value leaking elsewhere, both sides come off hilariously worse off, you say
That would be a massive win for crows , would give a huge chance to move even further up the order but already at the tail end of the elite players in this draft at 5

That’s why it will never happen , Melbourne know this

Crows would do that in a heartbeat
differences of opinion on top 10 talent might make it doable. It’s unlikely, I agree. But if Melba’s assessment is that there is not much difference between their 5th and 9th ranked player, they might do it. We would do it if we thought there was a big difference.

Altho, let’s say macadam is worth pick 35. Would you expect Melb to swap pick 5 for 9 and 35. Seems unlikely.

Yep that’s the thing , there is a difference for sure

As for Adelaide , considering we are dead keen for pick 4 then getting pick 5 that easily certainly helps our cause

In any case it’s not happening in a million yrs this year

I wonder if we make the same mistake this year as we did in 2018.
Where we had the draft capital to move up the draft but we don't do it.
And then we end up using our lower draft picks to select spuds instead of the better player.
I'm not keen on taking an outside type player with our 1st selection.

The difference between 2018 and now is we needed quantity as well as quality coming in.

We now should be focussed way more on going all in for quality.

In regards to open draft picks, could still go something like this before ours:

WCE - Reid
NM - Curtin
NM (McKay) - Duursma
Haw - Watson
WB? (from GC) - McKercher
Melb - Caddy
GWS - O’Sullivan
Geel - Sanders
Ess - Wilson

Basically, for Sanders or Wilson to make it, someone like Windsor or Ollie Murphy would have to be a bolter
Reid
Curtin
Mckercher
Duursma
Caddy
Watson
O'sullivan
Sanders
Wilson

I'm going by this guys vid but because sanders is available I have the bombers taking him.

So if Norf do get pick 3, we could well miss out on all of the above.

Which leaves the likes of Leake, Windsor, Demattia. Not sure who is the best fit??

North may not get band 1 for mckay so we'll see. Essendon apparently offering below 800k.

With the news Toby Murray is joining us it probably puts in some doubt whether we will look at a developing athletic young ruck this year. Toby is certainly athletic and has the versatility required these days as a ruck/forward. Worth noting Toby is yet to turn 20 with a November birthday.

Was named in the ruck in last year's Coates League team of the year.

Can you explain how he gets to us Bicks? National draft? Rookie draft? Cat B?

Filling in some of the gaps in my back catalogue.

Not Nate Caddy's strongest game. In spite of the lopsided scoreline, this game was relatively even in general play. Northern just struggled to convert its opportunities inside 50. Caddy dropped a few marks that he would normally grab, and struggled to find space with his leads.

Probably the same way his brother Nick did training with the club during the Supplementary Selection Period Signing would be my best guess. Of course he'll need to impress just like brother Nick did.
OK - so does that mean he doesn't nominate for any of the drafts?
