Well done Blues. Great win. My Nan loves her Blue boys and as she is very old now I know time is running out so I really hope you guys can have a deep run in the finals over the next couple of years. It would make her so happy.

I just want to mention I know he is no world beater but you have to respect someone like Ed Curnow. To me he always seems to do his job and tries his guts out. I loved seeing him and Charlie get around each other too after they kicked a couple of those goals. It was really nice to see.

Ed’s little pass to Charlie who then wheels around and kicks it from Fiddy then the chest bump to each other, just brings the biggest smile, proud and so happy for brothers…

What is best about this moment, is that the infernal gloom is lifted.
It has sat heavy on us for 20 odd years. The feeling the club was wrong and sick inside even when the fake sunny skies came and went a few times.

And it was.
Many operations by various admin coach/surgeons over the last two decades. All to not much avail.
Now Dr Sayers, Cook, Austin, Voss and Williams have filleted right down to the bone and found the infection and removed it.
And the healing is self evident.

Pretty sure after Ed goaled himself, when he got swamped by the boys, you can see genuine fear in his eyes when he spots Charlie running at him. Poor bloke probably expected to have his head ripped off by the 194cm labrador puppy.

So heartwarming to see the brothers enjoy the moments TOGETHER. Been cruelly deprived of the opportunity to play together for a longer period.

Thinking I can lay claim to the loudest and longest advocate of drafting Dutchy Hollands.

Also have to cop to being bewildered at the resigning of Ed Curnow after a nothing season in ‘22, with a big eye to the future. Well done Ed, it will be tough leaving you out if and when we get to that day with injured players returning.

Geez you whine a lot.

With regarding to whining (which is a tad harsh) it's mainly due to the weather the last couple of days, I was really looking forward wall week going to this game, bur as a result of the wind and strange downpour we have had the last few days, I have come down with a very annoying uncomfortable/ear/sinus and nasal infections, and I have no doubt I would have ended up in Hospital if I risked going.

I would say the weather probably did cost us about 10 K more fans attending too. More frustrated than moaning about it though, just have to deal with the cards I was dealt and be delighted with the win (which I am)

As usual, fisher is our talisman.
When he gets 20 odd and a goal we win. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
I like that forward setup and wonder how long we keep it.
Walsh and Hewitt to come back in.
Jack Martin the pretender to try and return. Wonder who makes way??

After a win like that, nothing beats an early morning coffee with a couple of spoonfuls of smug.

So much smugness.
Mine is more
Happy, with 2 teaspoons of relief.

Matthew Owies, take a bow.
Along with Durdin, added f50 pressure to a side desperate for it. With Charlie often leading back for the kick over the top (& dragging the defence with him), Owies was smart enough to provide a hitup option. He'll have his quieter games but tonight is reflective of why he'll continue to get games. Amongst our best tonight imo.

Harry, the most selfless game I've seen from him. Knowing Charlie had the favorable match-up, spent much of the game providing long leads to stretch their defence & leave Charlie on an island with space to work.
Given he's every bit as talented as Charlie, to put his own stat-line to the side so that his mate could feast is important & reflective of his maturity.

Fisher: he's always been creative going forward but has a tendency of playing a bruise free game, when the pressure was on late, he laid a couple of important tackles. Hopefully he gains some confidence from this - well done, Zac.

Acres: his game tonight is precisely why he is a quality acquisition. Used it well, found plenty of it & used his bigger frame to good effect, leaving Jezza sore on two occasions.
Love the way that he goes about it.

Jezza Cameron: he's an absolute freak,
For someone that earlier in his career was a bit of a down hill skier, as a footy fan, it's good to see him take his game to another level. Some of his efforts working back in support of his depleted defensive unit were inspirational.
Almost did it for the Cats, playing what felt like a lone hand.
