we are decades away from a 3rd AFL club in SA

There will never be a 3rd AFL club in SA, QLD, NSW or WA. Tasmania will get the 19th team and I am sceptical we will ever see a 20th team unless the league is secretly looking into Canberra. The markets are maxed and putting another team in Perth would just dilute the fans not bring more to the game just like anywhere else with existing teams. A new team has to mean a new market. the only available fan markets are Canberra, NT and Tasmania. Melbourne needs to reduce its teams by at least 2 as well. This just means adding additional teams is simply not a priority.

Could be crows supporters who aren’t members, namely because they can’t get decent seats but also disillusioned with the s**t show we’ve been who could switch over. Plus some Port.

But it’s a pointless discussion, just won’t happen .

In reality if it ever did they woukd get between 20-30k.. and potentially upwards in a generations time to home games and thats vastly more than GC or GWS are likely to ever average

Not that I'm disputing the rumour - I hope it's untrue as it would continue to be a bad look for the club - but the guy who posted it when we "discussed" ROB's poor stats he actually stooped to using a photo-shopped AFL marks stats and used it as an argument - for me - grain of salt.

it seriously wouldn’t surprise me if this actually was true and it’s probably stems back to Roo.. the club has been shit for a few years now..

-weird selection policies
-strange “clinging” affliction to its veterans
-a feeling that there’s favourites on the list that never get held accountable for poor form
-strange draft picks in both MSD and national drafts
- a strange obsession with small to medium sized midfielders

it’s already had one big clean out in this period.. and there been one big constant thats remained throughout.

sure kozzie be great but there are bigger needs given what we already have in the smalls area

I agree it is highly unlikely but we have way more draft capital than Poort….what could they offer to get him next year, Georgiades?

How many -if any - players from the current Norwood would make an AFL list? I don’t mind the thought of it - used to barrack for all the Sanfl teams in the old Escort Cup days - but Adelaide doesn’t have the money to support 3 teams. More likely a Central Coast, vic Country or NT as the 20th team.

Canberra or Sunshine coast are the obvious population growth areas the AFL would be targetting.

It’s possible but not likely. I doubt we see it in our lifetime, but you don’t know what the population will be in 100 years. But the whole comp might have blown up by then.

We need mids. While it would be great getting Kosi we already have Rachele, Rankine, Pedlar, McAdam. We need a quality experienced elite KPD, elite ruck and a tall elite skilled explosive mid. We had a player just as good as Kosi in Stengle and told him to go and pound sand. That decision was real stupid.

I'd be ****ing miserable everytime I did an injury report. Imagine all that hard work and they have the gall to get injured.

yes it's definitely true I was gobsmacked that someone would go that low to actually photoshop something [ROB's marks in a game} he turned the 0 into a 6 and used that stat to try and "discuss" ROB's game - after a few Bintangs I found it kind of funny but also kind of sad!

Nah, would defeat the purpose of why GWS was created in the first place. Have 2 sides in Sydney, and massive population growth in western sydney.
Get grass roots infrastructure in and gain new AFL fans organically.
