I agree with George - we have no way of saying what would have happened.Rubbish. It's factually what happened. We offered those three first round picks to North for JHF and they were silly enough to turn us down.
We then used those same picks for Dawson, Rachele and Rankine. Fact.
We don't get any of those players without three first round picks.
I think you'll find most crows fans are glad he's going and we get compensation which we can use to upgrade actual list needs.I really hate the treatment of players that choose to move on (in this case, the Club helped him to make that decision).
Yeah but the "piss off, don't let the door hit ya" posts are so disappointing.I think you'll find most crows fans are glad he's going and we get compensation which we can use to upgrade actual list needs.
I honestly haven't seen any.Yeah but the "piss off, don't let the door hit ya" posts are so disappointing.
I think Tom's management and Tom himself were 10 x more instrumental in the way things panned out with his AFC career then the club.I really hate the treatment of players that choose to move on (in this case, the Club helped him to make that decision).
Haven't seen that from anyone.Yeah but the "piss off, don't let the door hit ya" posts are so disappointing.
I don't disagree at all. I just think peeps are quick to slag off at a departing player, instead of seeing it for what it is - he took a gamble and failed, and now he has to do what's best for him, which also turns out to be good for us too.I think Tom's management and Tom himself were 10 x more instrumental in the way things panned out with his AFC career then the club.
He could have signed long term twice, but bet on himself both times.
What we did after the 2nd ACL was good business given the circumstance.
Brisbane taking a big risk on a player who's had 2 acl's but they are desperate for that flag. He's one bad injury away from career over. Crows took the right approach.I think you'll find most crows fans are glad he's going and we get compensation which we can use to upgrade actual list needs.
But but he really wanted to stayI wonder if the rumours of him being not happy about Dawson getting the captaincy is true and also helped make his decision
I honestly haven't seen any.
Another poor result from a first round pick under Hamish.
Won’t be missed.
Dropped out of the Leadership Group for reasons unknown.
Played the Free Agency game instead of signing on earlier in the season.
Offered a reduced contract and used the media to make it look like we were the bad guys.
Would not surprise if the Brisbane offer has been on the table well before he did his knee.
Does this mean we don’t have to hear him beg for a bigger offer through the media now?
Sick of this whinger, need less of our spuds in the media every day. * off campaigner!
Yeah, with you. I've always liked Tom. Wish him the best in Brissy. Any hostility toward him is nonsense IMO.I don't disagree at all. I just this peeps are quick to slag off at a departing player, instead of seeing it for what it is - he took a gamble and failed, and now he has to do what's best for him, which also turns out to be good for us too.
Haven't seen that from anyone.
Absolutely. Its now completely strategic and the club did the right thing. Tom held off thinking his stocks would rise and he got injured. But it seems he might have landed a good deal to get him to Brisbane and if he has and it nets us great compo, then all is well that ends wellI think Tom's management and Tom himself were 10 x more instrumental in the way things panned out with his AFC career then the club.

Yeah likely the big loser out of this is brisbane.Absolutely. Its now completely strategic and the club did the right thing. Tom held off thinking his stocks would rise and he got injured. Jenny likes to get her faux outrage in early
IWere Richmond trying to push him out?
What do you think Melbourne’s motivation is?
It really depends. If the knees are fine, they got him for salary cap only and he will make their defence better so its a big win for them. If the knee's are shot or he has lost power because of them, then they lose but they might have performance clauses in there to mitigate the contract termsYeah likely the big loser out of this is brisbane.
Oliver to the Crows?
There is a better probability of multiple posters on here winning Powerball.
If he wants out, expect the big Vic Clubs to come hard for him, especially the Cats.
