I think its related to the fact that they are waiting to hear what the Eagles would accept for Pick 1.
Exactly. Melbourne would be talking to WC more than they are talking to us. WC will be looking at what Melb and we currently hold and deciding if there's a combination of the two sets of assets that would satisfy them to part with P1 Harley Reid. It will be an overs deal for WC.

Melbourne then knowing what WC are asking for P1 will come to us and tell us what we need to give. As others have noted, it may well be that Melbourne needs enough to get pick 4 off the Suns in the process.

Pick 9, our best R2, F1 and McAdam is a no brainer for Oliver who, given our results against the top teams this season, will immediately put us in flag contention in 2024.

As for Barrett and cronies, they talk absolute swill, we are in a strong position to get this deal done, their darling Geelong are not!

Barrett: Pick 1 and let's call it pick 4
Gabelich: Don't think they get that

Barrett: Geelong have pick 7 and are always creative and could get it done.
Adelaide have pick 9 and cant get it done from there.
Gabelich: The team I keep hearing is Adelaide

Dammo, in peak offseason undermine AFC form already.

Bloke genuinely hates us.

Apologies if posted all ready, but here's the latest from Fox:

There has to be more to the whole thing than "Oliver wasn't happy with his injury rehab process".
Strange, the Melbourne supporters say he is very professional and there hasn't been anything to suggest otherwise since him being drafted. He did go through a lot this year.

If this comes true, I'll have to sit and think whether the Oliver trade miss or the Ben Keays goal was the shittiest news at the end of the season.

And speaking of the Keays goal and potential backroom compo from the AFL, here's their chance to assist via the Doedee FA and a smooth transition of the Oliver trade.

And maybe a clean slate for Clarry if he's sitting on any past infractions (rumoured)
All very possible. Add in a more favourable draw and we will call it even

I hate to break it to you, but ALL the corporate media companies are very far from “news” services. They are just stenographers. They are all owned by the same handful of companies if you follow it up the chain and they all get their talking points from the same memo. This is obvious enough to the layman by simply reading the same story in every newspaper with hardly a headline change or by watching the nightly news report to the end were they list “our partners MSNBC, CNN, Reuters, BBC…” etc. it is very well documented.

They are far from accurate. They tell you the “news” their bosses want you to think. Especially about geopolitics. Simple as that.

The only real news they provide is local. Car crashes, house fires, crime etc.

If you want the truth you have to find it yourself.

It is what it is.

But, on footy, they are 100%! Clayton Oliver, come on down!
Yeah saying "a company that had millions of dollars worth of ads and donations and is owned by very political people may have vested interests and biases" shouldn't even be a controversial thing to say...

Proper new services are obliged to state whether their information is verified when appropriate and they cannot prove it's accuracy directly.

This was the JHF deal which also involved Junior, it forms a baseline of what may happen.

MEGA DEAL DETAILS

NORTH MELBOURNE
Trade out:
Jason Horne-Francis, pick No.1, 2023 third-round pick (tied to Fremantle)
Trade in: Picks No.2, 3, 40, 43, 2023 future first-round pick (tied to Port Adelaide)

PORT ADELAIDE
Trade out:
Picks No.8, 43, 53, 57, 2023 first-round pick, 2023 second-round pick, 2023 third-round pick
Trade in: Jason Horne-Francis, Junior Rioli, 2023 second-round pick (tied to Collingwood), 2023 future third-round pick (tied to Fremantle)

WEST COAST
Trade out:
Junior Rioli, picks No.2, 40
Trade in: Picks No.8, 12, 2023 second-round pick (tied to Port Adelaide), 2023 third-round pick (tied to Port Adelaide)

GREATER WESTERN SYDNEY
Trade out:
Picks No.3, 12, 2023 second-round pick (tied to Collingwood)
Trade in: Pick No.1, 53, 57

WTF were West Coast thinking? Got absolutely reamed on that deal. Taking massive unders was the only reason Port could get the deal done.

Hopefully they are okay with taking unders again. They need quantity, not quality. Hopefully this is where all our seconds come into it.

Still like the idea of trading 2x2nds for Ports F1 to get us that third first rounder but I am sure they will refuse to trade with us if it helps our cause.

So Geelong can somehow get it done with a pick that's 2 places higher than us in 7 but we can't with 9? Can Barrett show his Vic bias any more??

Yeah he was saying that last night too.

"Pick 9 doesn't get it done", then 2 seconds later "Pick 7 is a pretty good starting point".

It's a completely stupid comment to make as there's not all that much difference between the two picks especially if they're going to be packaged up and sent to WCE for Pick 1.

Damian Barrett is just a pro Victorian flog, he's the same clown who said that Showdowns should be played in Victoria at the MCG 🤡

GWS also threw away pick 12 lol.

Damian Barrett’s default position in trade week is “how can this Vic club benefit from short changing this non-Vic club who for some reason ate under pressure to take the deal”.

Says it all about the AFL that this guy is employed by the league.

So crows and Melbourne players both know Clayton Oliver is open to a move to join the Crows and reunite with fitness boss Darren Burgess

Really does seem like were the only team he's interested in tbh. it's all to do with rejoining Burgess.

Pick 4 is up for grabs. WC will be asking for pick 4 in any pick 1 deal.
4 way trade happening maybe. MFC, AFC, GCS and WCE.
There's already movement in this group involving AFC with McAdam and Burgess and I feel there's an opportunity to make this work for all four clubs.

How do WCE end up with 4, 5, 9? That's the key to unlocking the puzzle.
